Kimono

^ Me too. I used to have a solid blue happi, but it was a bit boring. I'd love to find something with beautiful patterns and colors.

I think kimonos are really cute, I prefer the longer version that you wear without pants or jeans.

There's loads of them on eBay, black and coloured, vintage and modern.

I brought a long brown kimono, on ebay that I receive today, but I didn't know that it was going to be that long,I wanted a bit short like the guys has on the first page of this tread, now I'm asking myself how I should wear it, if It's long? You guys have any advices? thanks!

If you're planning to wear it in the Japanese style with an obi, you can adjust the length of the kimono like this:

If you want to wear it as a jacket, you'll have to cut it to whatever length you want. I can't see all that clearly, but the sleeves on the kimono in the OP don't look like a genuine Japanese kimono.

Otherwise, have a look on eBay for men's or women's haori jackets. The women's ones tend to be short but you can get some slightly longer ones.

The men's jackets are longer but also somewhat wider; a lot of the older ones have really cool linings and can be worn reversibly so the lining shows.

ww.ichiroya.com has some amazing new and vintage kimonos and haori. They also have children's kimonos, and some obis and wedding kimono that would be stunning used as decoration. I have one amazing red silk kimono from them I use as a dressing gown, and a black embroidered haori that I use as a wall hanging. Plus, their prices are excellent. :flower:

I've bought far too many things from Ichiroya! Just got a delivery of two gorgeous men's haori today. Collecting kimono can be quite an expensive addiction (my avatar is from a Meiji era uchikake that I bought from Ichiroya a few months back).
