Finnish newcomer Kirsi was one of the Prada exclusives this season who landed in Paris on a extremely restricted schedule (school duties). Even then Ms Pyrhonen landed berths at Givenchy and Loewe. Now her very unique features have earned her the attention of some of the most vital photographers and designers on the editorial and campaign market. Expect an impeccable follow through on the part of this young lady.

I guess Finland is like Denmark, we have English classes from age 10, so it's not really a mystery After all, Finland isn't some random poor Eastern European country.

I personally think education is very important, but everytime these Finnish up-and-coming girls have "school duties", I wish they would just drop out of school already..!

^They are very very strict with school duties in Finland! Which is probably why Finland has some of the best students in the world. Kirsi is probably super brainy

Ok, in Russia people start learning english in second grade and by the end of school only like 20% can say something. So I think it really depends on person. And yes I loved how great her English was and how nice she was when she was speaking, I love her even more now.

^I think it depends on the education system, not the student Seriously, I don't get why everyone acts all surprised every time someone from Northern Europe speaks decent English. Oh, and even 8th grade teachers in Finland have university degrees, so there is def. a difference. OMG Denmark sucks so much compared to Finland

I do think it's a very good idea that she isn't doing too much work in her first season though. She might burn out too soon, and we don't want that! I'm really interested in how her print work is going to turn out...can't wait! I'd love to see her in beauty eds.

Normally Finnish children start english studies at the age of 9, on 3rd grade. And I believe even 1st grade teachers have university degrees, students may do some substitutions.

Now I understand why she wasn`t at Miu Miu. Actually schools may not be so strict about school duties, there is lot of flexibility if you´re ready to study hard by yourself. But our parents are usually very strict

Nice to see her speaking English fluently and her laugh is infectious but I find it kinda' odd in a good way though ..she was answering her question a then boom! laughs uncontrollably hehe so cute!
