i have loved kirsten pieters since i first saw her in those moschino adverts in 1999....then when i finally discovered hintmag,through their wonder model mania feature i found her name. she's done some of my favourite features and shows. and those theyskens images and shows are just a start.

not surprising though,she's modelled extensively for many of the younger and lesser known belgian designers-jurgi persoons,lieve van gorp,patrick van ommeslaeghe,bernhard willhelm(in his early days).....

unfortunately they don't have that image from the 99 collection but if you have the belgian fashion design book(in fact you can find loads of images of her in that book!) you can find a shot of her in that show wearing one of his beautiful circle skirts.

she's also done a few of the jurgi persoons presentations and look-books in the early 00's....particularly the infamous 'plexiglass egg' collection and the mirrored cadavers.

outside belgium though,miguel adrover(and we all know miguel's penchant for using such unique and interesting girls) is another i remember her fondly from

a/w 2000

she also had some great shoots with photog greats anuschka blommers and niels schumm. as well as features in the early editions of self service as well as visionaire.

egads i wish i had a scanner because i have loads of stuff i've saved over the years. there's a great feature story purple magazine did on jurgi persoons s/s 2001 collection and kirsten modelled. then there was a fantastic,unforgettable photo she did for paper magazine of her in that famous miguel adrover distressed and frilled 'i love ny' t'shirt. similar to the one karen elson modelled on the cover of dutch magazine. but kirsten somehow delivered the quirk much stronger than karen.

and btw,i have to tell you,not to boast,about three years ago kirsten had saw that on my myspace page i had listed her in my interests(because truthfully that's how inspiring she's always been to me) so she got in touch with me and now we've become pretty good online buddies. she's very sweet,exuberant and she's now an actor in the belgian theatre. she even had a role in a small independent film there. she's also a mummy now too!
