I have a question about knee high boots.... do you think that they should go right up to the knee or do you think they should stop three or so inches before the knee. Most of my high boots do the latter & I am always slightly irritated by this. what do you think? maybe they shouldn't come right up to the knee.....

thanks for any thoughts in advance.:flower:

I think both heights are good and I have them in both. I think it depends on what your wearing them with. I read somewhere that when your wearing knee-highs with skirts, you should either cover the top of the boot or leave at least 4 inches exposed between the hem and the boot. Hope this helps!!

P.S. I also love mid-calf boots! Tres sexay with pencil skirts!!

thanks curious - I want them to be higher but I an never find any that go high enough.

Hrm well I dunno about the look factor, I think they look great either way! I think you will find (and probably know anyway) that it really depends on how long one's legs are. Someone who has short legs will find calf high boots look much higher than they would on a long legged woman. I know someone at work who bought the "lopez" style over-the-kee boots from Schuh. But she can get away with wearing them at work because they look like knee boots on her!

Go figure lol.

I think boots should come right up to the knee. I think the longer they are the prettier. Ya know @ yoox.com you can type in the cm of the boot shaft into the search bar. I love that, especially when you are looking for that perfect length to go with that perfect skirt.

I have the same problem with finding knee high boots that come up to my knees. It seems that whenever I see new people on TV such as Hannah Storm or Katie Couric all of their boots are these beautiful long leather or suede boots that reach thier knees. Any idea where they are finding them or the designers names?

I have some pretty definite opinions regarding knee high boots and skirt lengths.

"Ideally"......my knee high boots come up to a point an inch below my knee and leaves a gap of an inch or two between the boots and my skirt/dress. That look is perfect on me (and I think on most women).

If the boots are say two inches shorter on my legs they look tacky. The gap is simply too wide to provide a good proportioned look.

Another perfectly acceptable combination is a longer skirt that completely covers the top of the boots. But nonetheless, the boots should still come up to within 1 inch of your knee. Why? Because when you sit down and your legs are exposed shorter boots still look tacky and ill proportioned.

Just my opinions ladies. (From a 30 year old woman)

 i need advice should i get brown or black suede knee high boots? do you think brown would be more classy? i will be wearing them with dresses.

^ I think it depends on the color of the dress, but as a more versatile staple, I'd say black :flower:

i think the perfect knee-length boot should come up to about 2-3 inches above the kneecap.

i think black is always more classy, compared to any other color....

I agree with the rule of thumb...leave at least 4 inches or make sure that your skirt covers the tops of your boots!

I just bought a pair of Gucci boots with the gold buckle...They go right up to my knees! You might want to consider styles from Gucci, Lorenzi, Celine, Burberry, Helmut Lang, Valentino, or Chloe...

Does anyone have suggestions of how to wear the knee high boots or can direct me to a thread which discusses it, please? I've been searching...:flower:

Here are a couple pictures of the height of the boots and I"m not sure how to wear them at this height. They are pictured with a skirt that I'm not too crazy about...what do you think. (should this be in the what to wear with thread?)
