Once upon a time, we saw digital of Ksenia Gorban, maybe her first or second set ever. We immediately noticed her and her sister Irina. Since that summer day, both have gathered numerous interesting editorials and dazzling polaroids. Once upon a time, we saw Laine Rogova for the first time and there was already quite a little buzz around her. Since that strange moment, the buzz went slightly down leaving more room for real work and Laine started building a serious book, especially in Spain now as we wrote it a few days ago. Once upon a time is also the translation of this editorial's title. Fairytale atmopsher all across this story shot by Alfonso Ohnur for spanish Glamour. Ksenia as the Little Red Riding Hood and Laine as the Wolf. Laine playing the role of the Ballerina while Ksenia works out the Steadfast Tin Soldier, brilliant. Ksenia seems quite alone on one scene, though. Unless the toad by her sides is supposed to be Laine. Would make sense as we bet this one will turn into a real princess quite soon. fdib
More gorgeous shots of Ksenia from FDIB: Cornucopia Ksenia Gorban @ Uno (Barcelona)
Cornucopia could be a good name for her editorial book. Ksenia adds another new story this month, from Vanidad by Sergi Pons. Another spanish delight to strengthen her profile which has already seriously improved since she started working with Uno Barcelona - remember our recent post on her story from Glamour. Yes, that one based on fairy tales. Moving from one place to the other this afternoon, we've been re-reading a couple of stories from the Grimm brothers. Getting in the right mood for another article on Ms. Ksenia Gorban. If patterns are the main topic across the eight ones above, we can't help seeing something dream-like spread all over as well. Maybe it's just Ksenia's signature. Maybe it's what she inspires to photographers she works with. What strikes us most is the way she works out bad hair, total tartan and highly colorful outfits. So natural it looks like it could be her every day life.
Wow, the FDIB lovelies adore Ksenia. More shots of her from their blog (taken by Rad Hourani and accompanying an an article about him in the latest Indie
