Sexagenarian fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has adopted a late-life second career behind the lens of a camera, but some of the art form's finer details continue to elude him.
"He's not a great photographer, but people want to use him because of his name," says one European fashion insider. But, at a recent shoot, he seemed to have some difficulties with a newfangled digital camera.
"They'd been shooting for a while, and everyone was too terrified to tell him he'd been pushing the wrong button," says the snitch.
In other words, no photos were being taken.
"Finally, one of the assistants went up to ‘adjust the camera' and discreetly guided his finger onto the right button."
