Extremely beautiful. It's great to see someone different than the usual pale, blonde lifeless things that walk on the runway.

Here's the bit they (Diane? Sonny?) wrote about her. Thanks for the link!^Meanwhile, Diane Pernet says she's just 16...

In Rio I came across Lais Ribeiro, a stunning six foot tall new model who some are touting as the country´s next big export. I met her at Osklen´s fitting and it was amazing to see how self-collected she was in the midst of all the frenzy that unfolds before a show. She didn´t speak English so I asked Oskar to tell her that I had written about her for the NYT´s The Moment and that I thought she was going to be very successful - through him she said thank you but she didn´t seem very excited. Thinking about it more, I realized this is what I love about her - both off and on the runway she projects a kind of aristocratic boredom, as well as awe-inspiring beauty, and the marriage of the two makes for a great runway and editorial presence. She still needs to learn to channel the effect, but if she can be bothered to try, she has what it takes to inspire photographers, stylists and designers. Watching her just now at the Simone Nunes show, I was talking to my friend Ana (Finel Honigman), a fellow fan. said that she loved how she looked like she had somewhere better to be... but she´s probably only 16, so what could she possibly have on her schedule.. playing with her Playstation? I suggested that perhaps she has precognitive ability and realizes how boring the next 5 years are going to be once she hits the big time and has to deal with fashion bull**** all day long. At one show yesterday we actually saw her yawn as she turned from the photographers during the final group exit.
Here´s a gallery of images - do you see what I´m talking about in her expression? Kind of a Snejana effect, but less haughty or put-on. She doesn´t look like an elitist snob, just a bit skeptical and like she suspects fashion is a big snooze. And she´s right. Most of the time it is.

She is not Indian... She is Brazilian.
Unless you meant Native American, then yeah, probably a mix of that with some European and African. She's a stunner. DEFINITELY stands out amongst all of the usual girls.
