Riccardo Tisci opened his Givenchy Haute Couture show with three models of color yesterday evening in Paris. Leading the pack was Lakshmi Menon, who was recently plucked from near obscurity to become the face of Hermès. A L'Officiel editorial and Vogue India cover quickly followed—and now, we hear, she's set to be star of the Givenchy Fall campaign.

This is completely wrong. She had already been on the cover of Vogue India, done several campaigns/edits in India and walked in Paris before she got the Hermes campaign. She was up and coming but she was not plucked from obscurity! I don't know why this makes me so mad but this makes me mad - they need a fact checker.

This is true, she is one of the better known models in India, but apparently having a reasonably successful career out of the West makes you obscure.

Lakshmi is so perfect for Givenchy. She is my favourite in the current ads, she just shines in them which is amazing because the other girls are all very established and experienced. I can't wait for more editorial work from this girls, she is just so......
