Lakshmi Menon

Love the Vogue editorial. It's giving me a 90s feel.

Totally agreeB) When I first saw the pics I thought it harked back to a different era.
Lakshmi really pulls this off remarkably:heart:
Thanks Bert Berlin for the beautiful scans.:flower:

My favourite shot is the one of her smiling in McQueen and getting flowers pinned into her hair. In India, it's such a familiar sight/experience, having an older female relative fix your hair with jasmine or bougainvillea. And somehow the kaleidoscope of colours in the McQueen dress complement everything around them. ^_^

As a fellow South Indian, I'm also incredibly jealous of her complexion -- it's like the sun loves her!

Seeing the whole editorial, I tend to like the pictures I have the most familiarity with, such as the one you described, and the Holi picture (I just wish I could see her face better).

I'm not South Indian, but I am jealous of her complexion as well.^_^

^ thanks for posting the link. I always like reading interviews of lakshmi .

Having internet back has never been sweeter..especially after seeing Lakshmi's new Vogue editorial..simply breathtaking:woot:!!! Her body is beyond perfect and finally i've seen her smile..which is a real joy since she's even more beautiful smiling ^_^!!! The interview on style.com only keeps my hopes alive that she'll become a Vogue girl, eventually..*fingers crossed* ^_^ and VS:huh:? isn't she just "too much" for VS? i mean too elegant, poised and regal? that'd bring popularity but not of the right kind imo..she's so high fashion

OMG! I have to get that US Vogue, Lakshmi's ed is amazing!!!!

i love her look, handsome femininity is more intriguing than plain prettiness. we have enough doll faces.

can anyone id her orange bag in the video? it seems orange, my monitor has distorted colors/

I've never seen that one! Thanks. They looks so cute. Mariacarla looks like her daughter or her little monkey. Lol.

She is like a Goddess dripping in chocolate - immense bone structure, and such loud eyes... stunner!

I din't think this was posted in HQ
Givenchy fw08

This ad and the S/S 09 ad with only Mariacarla and Lakshmi are the exact reasons why I think that they should be the only girls in the Givenchy ads.

Whenever I go into this thread I always feel strangely proud. Which is odd but every time she does something new and ascends to the next level I just feel great. Seeing her in US Vogue is such a major deal - how long has it been since there was an Indian model there? Possibly eons ago - back with Yasmeen Ghauri, I've been reading Vogue for my entire adult life and I can count the number of minority faces I've seen on my fingers. It's sad but this is such a wonderful step. Just yesterday I was talking to my friend about the lack of diversity in this industry and what it means to look at a magazine and see someone whose beauty is in some ways indicative of your own. I would imagine that it must be exceptionally powerful for young Indian girls to look in a magazine like Vogue and see someone who represents them so elegantly.

Just my cheap two cents ^_^
