Lanvin S/S 2026 Paris | the Fashion Spot

Lanvin S/S 2026 Paris

I think the women’s is really nice and has a certain ease to it that I would rather associate to dries van noten. The problem is squarely in the men’s department. His customer/man is unclear. Who is this for and where is this person even going? I found myself annoyed seeing those men’s looks.
I also rather not comment on appearance. But coming out with those sneakers and that outfit while sending out those castrated men before is such a lame thing.
Separate the women’s, make it even better and find a new menswear designer pronto

Clearly no budget left for RTW because I refuse to accept that this is the best Copping can do at a house like Lanvin. The shoes and accessories look desirable, but the clothes are mostly tragic.

Loved it.
The dresses felt very Jeanne Lanvin.
I will wait for the pictures to see everything in more detail, that video lasted 40 seconds.

Agreed! It has the feel and ease of silhouette I connect with Jeanne Lanvin’s heydays, the 1920s and 30s. I get a bit of orientalism in a Poiret-by-way-of-Haider-Ackermann manner, as well.

The technique is there, you can tell that he’s a seasoned designer - However, the one thing that is missing is direction. A more limited color story, less ideas as well as looks presented in a different running order would have given the collection a more assured feel.

That degree of restraint is something rarely found today and to complain that with Copping would only be fair by mentioning Ghesquière’s Vuitton in the same breath.

We just don’t have people designing and presenting collections like they did in the early 2000s…

Very beautiful but he could have found a more pleasing way to present those clothes. I don’t know, an hotel particulier, or somewhere like the Bourdelle museum.

He could have been great for Valentino…
I don’t know if the current owners of Lanvin are that determined to make this work.

You are right.
That shade of blue is hard on the clothes. It even damages a couple of looks (it eats up look 4 and takes the blueness out from look 16).

The Belle Epoque flair that the womens distill is just appropriate for Lanvin.
I like many things here, the length of the skirts, the leg of mutton sleeves, the dries-y romanticism of some mens looks, the tailoring, the vintage effect on some clothes as if you would find them inside a trunk, forgotten, in the attic of a mansion.

And the fact that they form a whole without needeng to repeat every feature and every idea 10 times so that you get it.
