i really like her in professional photographs,
but she looks really bad on the runway (calvin, balenciaga, valentino... any styling, she just looks bad)
and the new hair color isn't helping either

Congrats to Laura for scoring a VI cover.

Alluring enigma. Indefinable like a creature from a dream world, yet sophisticated like a diva from bygone times. Real and illusory at once. The maquillage is intense thanks to 3 Couleurs, n. 091, a kit with a foundation cream and two eye shadows (mat and luminous), and Diorshow 360, a mascara based on shaping microwaxes, with a rotating applicator that has a brushing effect on the lashes.

The complexion is sublime with the soft and smoothing texture of Capture Totale Powder, rose lumière, with liquid crystal pigments. On the lips, a global formula like that of long lasting lipstick Rouge Sérum, n. 910, that hydrates, gives volume and smoothes down. All by Dior. Cotton drill dress with raffia trimmings, Blumarine. Hat Ellen Christine Millinery; collar Tessa Matthias; gloves LaCrasia; nails Lulu. Hair Guido for Redken. Maquillage Pat McGrath. Manicure Jin Soon Choi for Jin Soon Natural Hand & Foot Spa. Fashion editor Karl Templer.

This month’s issue of Vogue Italia will be on newsstands on February 3 in Milan and shortly after in the rest of Italy.

Well, it was pretty obvious she would score the VI cover sooner or later, still I'm so happy for her!

Okay, look--she reminds me of a lot of hype models who debut with these super-exclusive runway seasons, do some great work with Meisel and other top-rate photographers, and then fade slowly out of the picture. Oftentimes they are fairly young like Laura. That being said, I think she is statuesque and just maximally poetic. After looking so fresh and romantic at the couture shows, it's surprising and awesome to see her through this glamazon/eighties vamp lens. Though a debut like this aught to be taken with a grain salt, I'm excited and hopeful to see her continued development.

That cover is a visual feast. One of my favourite cover shots from VI. I just don't see this certain je ne sais quoi in her as the French would say. Everything about Laura is so exceptionally stunning until you notice her expressions.... No soulfulness... Just questionmarks...

first Juliane, and now Laura??? new favourite Meisel's girls? ::heart:

:buzz:

it's gonna be so far i think!

I know this is a broken record, but she photographs amazingly (with the exception of balenciaga.. but that was mostly a styling/concept issue for me), but I don't think her look translates all that well into runway. Will be interesting to see how she fares in the upcoming fashion week.. I suppose her VI cover could not come at a better time for her
