Leggings

I'm not big on cut-off tights, but I love classic opaque black tights with ballet flats and a cute minidress (preferably nuetral/dark toned) It's classic, so you don't have to worry about being "trendy" yet it adds alot to an outfit, in my opinion.

Classic, yet also supposed to be big for fall :ninja:

I am one who doesn't worry what other people are doing, I do what I want. I don't run into too many people who are following trends, so it's not a problem :p

yeah i've been wearing them for ages but its spring here now so its way to warm for tights. wear them with anything but short denim skirts. i hate when people do that.

i've been wearing black opaque leggings for years, as i cannot stand having my feet "trapped". i always wear the same brand: wolford, a bit expensive, but, as i'm really tiny (i.e. short), i go for them because they do an extra-small size that fits me. i think you can buy them on-line.

I think we discussed the footless tights thing in the 'Fashion Victims' thread. I do love wearing them..........but it seems like I'm surrounded by clones wearing the mandatory uniform of denim mini skirt, footless tights and ballet pumps...........at least here in London it's a outfit de rigeur. The Notting Hill boho lot also do the gypsy skirt, footless tights and cow-boy boots thing......again, becoming a bit of a fad really.
I like wearing them with formal dresses or woolen dresses.......de-formalises the dress thing and makes them less prim.

not into footless tights either, the fact that those celebrities are into this style,
blinks like a bright red 'danger' light to me
for one more season sticking with my classic adorable black or navy 40 denier opaques ;)

btw, i've seen a new length of footless in the shops last week,
that stops just a 5-10 cm under the knee.. comes in all possible colours
those may be actually cool if paired with knee length skirt
and standard opaques underneath

I love foot-less tights, but whenever I wear them I can't help feeling like Sienna or Mary-Kate,thank God they arent a trend here or I would have to retire them. You can get them for really cheap at a dance store.

I have some in pale pink, from dance. No one around here wears the footless tights with anything other that denim minis, it's really annoying.

They are terrible. All the bimbos where I live wear them with too tight and too short denim skirts. I'm so sick of it. They've been doing it for two years now - it's getting a bit old.

 i remember when ppl used to laugh when me & a gd frnd used to wear these . . .
look wht they're wearing now . . . :innocent:
i always wear mine either really short . . . few inches below knee
or long . . . so they stop just before the ankle
but not w/a denim mini. NO THNX.

* & recently have been wearing some super cute lace ones !

Dressy skirts that need to be dressed down. Same goes for dresses.
It's just a funky thing to have to substitute tights. Wear them with long-ish tops if you're brave enough!

Gosh! I love this! I used to do this in high school and some ppl thought it was corny....it's amazing how when you stick to what you love it eventually becomes mainstream.

I only use them when I am biking in cool weather. The ones I have are from UnderArmour and are of a wicking fabric.

I can't help but think of leggings as sports clothing. We always wore tights in cross-country and track, and they are indespensible cold-weather cycling gear.

Also, I am old enough to remember when leggings were the big thing in the early 1990s, including the ones with the lace around the ankles. Where you wore them with an oversized tee-shirt. Even though it was the done thing, and I sometimes sported this look, I felt it looked dreadful back then, and looking back on the old school albums, it certainly was awful! And the hairdos the girls wore then!

Leggings are kind of tainted by the 1990s for me, as well as by sports associations.
