Leggings

i'm all for people rocking their own styles...

...but...

once you've seen nicole/lindsay/mischa and anyone other rachel zoe clone dressed in a trend you know its passé, much like kaftans, wide, low slung-belts, etc.

as a brit through and through, i must, however, congratulate kate and sienna on their own interpretation of a much misguided trend.

see girls...you can dress yourselves!

who started leggings trend?

thats a blast from the past. thought u would never show up in sturrups or leggings again. who started this?:p

i mainly wear it bc at school our skirts have a to be a certain length so if i wear spandex they dont bother me (: and i have no idea who started it \:

:innocent:i claim no responsibility for this, but i have been known to throw a skirt on over my running tights w/ flats/flip flops b/c I don't want to/have time to change @ the gym, but i don't want to run errands looking like i forgot that what's ok to wear in a gym is NOT ok to wear at the grocery store.
sorry:blush:

I don't know who but I can't say I'm a big fan. Leggings are such a deal breaker on some outfits. I'll see girls wearing a perfectly cute dress and wham! A pair of leggings peak out from underneath. I just feel like for the most part it can interupt an outfit.

But all the more power for those who like them!

it can be really cute but unfortunately where i'm from the try-hards have adopted it and made it tacky again, already. don't know where the trend's from but hopefully it'll be going back.

I would say Sienna, most likely.

I hate the trend, especially worn with skirts.

I don't like leggings, but I prefer footless tights.
I think they can look really nice in pastel colours, with flats and a drop waisted dress.

What are these type of leggings called and where can I find them?

I'm not even sure if they're leggings but they're usually made of cotton or something very soft (not spandex) and they're not too tight. They sort of gather at the bottom. Do you guys have any idea what I'm talking about?

^I got a pair of pink ones, similar to those, in Amsterdam...
They were actually leg warmers, stiched..very cute...i stuck some flower stickers on them with a flat shoe..looked very similar :)
you can try knitting your own, and sticking pins or stickers..and you can even cut off the legs off a pair of tights/socks...
nice pic :)

^thanks for the advice. :flower: Actually, I was inquiring about a more generic type of legwarmer pants thing. Here's another example:

It's somewhere between legwarmers and pants. Reminds me of something a ballerina working out might wear. Anyone know what they're called and where to buy them?

I thought I hated leggings. But then I found a pair in my closet and tried it on with a dress. I actually liked it. Felt like a ballerina  But I really, really hate those nylon-thingies, esp if they're capri length. ICK.

Anyone know where I could find...

I would love to know where I could find brightly colored footless leggings. (What do you all wear them with? I've only worn black but I want to try white and other colors. Any tips?)

Also

Where could I find cute headbands?

Examples or places would be much appreciated. Anyone who wants to find something or tips on how to wear something can post here. xoxo
