He's getting serious about what? Dating more models?

He used to be a lot goofier and funny on interviews. Now he´s more serious.

Planet beautiful people where everyone looks like a sculpture made out of a Carribean beach. Yeah. Crazy.

Yeah that wasn't my point. I mean I don't mind Orlando but find him pointless and Jude is kinda sleazy and somewhat camp and Emmy along with Anne Hathaway has 'punch me' face (that is the reaction I get when I see either of them). Anyway my point is about Leonardo. He is doing the circuit so much it is bizarre. It is wierd seeing him as the statesman instead of the rookie. And he has a pervy look in his eyes now (note photo with Penelope and Beyonce on the last page). Whereas when he was screwing around when he was in his 20s it was kinda like 'oh boys will be boys' but now that debonair playboy aura has replaced the fun and he seems to be bordering on sleazy politician mode (albeit a very hot one). Just funny how things change.
Really? I don't see it that way at all. I think when he was younger he was going through a reaction to fame- simulataniously trying to take advantage of it and shy away from it. Now he seems to have found a balance. He certainly doesn't seek out publicity. When you see him at an event it's either a charity event, a premiere of a movie that he's in, or an award show where he's nominated for an award. He seems to be making more of an effort to be personable now than he did when he was younger but when the Oscar noms were announced I read a critic in the NY Times who said that DiCaprio's toughest role seems to be acting glad to be sit on a chat show sofa. I think he's working on that role. He's being personable and civil with Emmy Rossum and Orlando Bloom and Jude Law because they're colleagues. Would he be more likeable if he'd said "Nope. You're not talented enough for me to talk to"? And there are reasons he'd talk to both of them: Jude Law was in a movie with him. Ignoring him would be rude. Orlando Bloom and Emmy Rossum are both involved in environmental causes which they could easily be discussing with him.

As for the Al Gore thing at the Oscars- they were both reading lines off of a teleprompter. The point of the segement was the let people know that the Oscars had "gone green" and highlight environmental issues which, I think, is why they both did it. Anything else was the work of the writers.

My thoughts exactly!!!
He moves in Hollywood with a lot of integrity and decency, which is not very common.

He has become my favorite actor in Hollywood, acting wise. I just watched The Departed last night and it sealed the deal. I think he's such a better actor than he's sometimes given credit for, due to his pretty boy image, but he's done a good job in recent years of shedding that. Seriously, give him an Oscar already!

he's so overdue - lol as oprah would say 'gooooooo get yooooooour oscar!!'

(although she did say that to leo after the aviator to no avail....maybe she cursed him nevermind...:innocent:)

^True he should have won for a few roles. But he's 32, he's got time to win several Oscars.

I was actually embarrassed for Oprah when she said that because Leo was no nonchalant in that interview:lol: . He is a awesome actor no doubt and I just felt like she was kissing ***.

I prefer him as old school Hollywood in The Aviator shots. I don't like his Departed wardrobe.

lol yeah. and then they cut to audience of older ladies clapping like mad and claoping all giddy-like. it was hilarious. i think she did the same thing to jennifer hudson as well.

thanks for the pics peppi - i think the vanity fair ones are reposts though :)
worth seeing again, however. haha

^oh sorry:doh:

btw, does anyone know where I could read his Vanity Fair interviews?

There is a fantastic photo of him in the national portrait gallery's exhibition (Faces of Fashion or whatever) wearing a cat mask! It's from 95 or something, around the Basketball diaries times. When he looked his best imo.

I think I know the one you mean Hilde ^. I just saw Don's Plum and was really entertained by it. He has made some released movies that were more boring than Don's Plum and in terms of shock value I have no idea why Leo and Tobey got it banned. I mean the character Leo plays has moments of extreme cuntdom but he is just vulnerable. It is a great performance.

Well from what I understand they didn't want it released because they filmed it as a favor to a friend and were lead to believe that it wouldn't be for theatrical release. Then when they both hit it big the "friend" who they were doing a favor for, decided to cash in
