Les Hommes FW 06.07 Milan

This really proves that knitwear is huge, everyone is showing it and they've incorporated it everywhere...

I like some pieces, hate most of it.

meh, pretty underwhelming and the gimmicks are just distracting.

I am also ambivalent about this. I agree with Chris, what the f**k is it with Milan and satin? Is it some kind of a secret society? Is it an initiation ritual? Maybe you must have satin in order to show at Pitti? I don't understand. Anyway, definitely the worst, but at the same time not the weakest collection - I thought the current college punk collection is worse. There is definitely some experementing with cuts going on...

This feels like Cloak meets Galliano Homme.

True, true, true! The setting reminds me of the Dior couture show, too. Some of the styling here reminds me of this seasons Costume National Homme.

This is so horribly styled  Some very nieces pieces here and there, hidden among the satin and glitz. Too bad they put it together like this..ugh...

I like the menswear but the women part is pretty bad
Yeah, those femme ones are...
The presentation may seem gimmicky, but if those stuff are worn separately, they can be quiet nice. I  the knits

i wonder what's the womenswear is called? les hommes for femme? les femmes?

regaredless to some interesting cuts, i still find this really awful. i think this would appeal more to galliano fans, no? like raijin had pointed out, these are too flashy and gimmicky.

yuck! never been a fan really.. but i agree with the others on the fact that some induvidual pieces are nice...definitely not me tho

this feels like a letdown, i had hopes they'd make something wonderful for women and this looks really awful, especially that poncho thing. and the menswear stuff is bad, bad to their standards cause i've seen much worse. meh.

Ugh...hate/love relationship for me, too, I think. Like FTB said, much of it looks forced. And much of it is just plain ghastly. If I hadn't read the thread title, I wouldn't have guessed this was Les Hommes.

Tights...

.. reoccuring nightmare from Number (N)ine S/S 06

:ninja:

Alot of it actually reminds me of Bart's(Vandebosch one-half of the duo)graduation collection. Maybe not quite as strong. Perhaps it's the fedora's?? I dunno. But the pieces as a whole are actually really beautiful. The styling, however, can lead one to believe that this is a Gucci collection. Certainly not the kind of vision/scenario one expects from a Belgian designer. To concur...love it and hate it.

the clothes are ok, i guess... but why do designers think that autumn leaves make for a good runway setting?

If taken from the perspective of being a tricked up tuxedo/ceremonia line, it will sell well in Italy. I find it hard to believe as daywear without looking like a fashion student.

i seriously hate this, the fabrics are all wrong and the shapes seem very amateurish

Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong got some new arrivals and they had this awesome LES HOMMES chunky Knit jacket/cardigan... its not in the runway pics, but it has a hood and it has those wooden buttons shaped like animal teeth (is there a name for those kind of buttons).. it was really nice but 1050 EUROS.. i think for that price i would rather go with this number nine piece... (though the Les Hommes one is definetely more detailed and unique)

This Les Hommes jacket is even more magnificient in person...
