Limi Feu and Trace

Hmmm... seems like I was misunderstood thus my point was harped on... however it's partly my fault because of the wording. The REASON why I did not like the collection was not really because it was COMMERCIAL, it was mainly because I like Yamamoto the way Yamamoto clothes are. Moreover, when you have people taking bits and pieces away from his clothes I JUST don't like it. It then looks quite boring and repetitive to me. In addition to that, I'm sorry but what's wrong it if I don't really like COMMERCIAL clothes (an even-if argument). What you are trying to present helena is the sort-of backlash/attack against people who like avant-garde clothing or irrevent fantasy, bringing up the argument of isn't clothes meant to be worn. You see I think what you thought why I don't like commercial clothes is because "Commercial = Ewwww, gross I am fashion snob ONLY THE BEST FOR ME!" which I am not.

Runner - love these last posts - epecially the very last one. thanks.:D

Ignitioned32 - i respect your opinion & I agree that if you were to compare yohji's mainline & Limi I would agree that the Yohji line is much more intricate & intellectual & therefore arguably more interesting. However, personally, I would find it very difficult to wear most of yohji's clothes in my everyday life because they are too abstract & intellectualised. With the Limi line I could wear nearly all of it & still feel like my clothes were unusual (but still appropriate for my life). I don't tend to be an avant-garde basher at all - I like most avant garde design but I distinguish between what inspires me (yohji) & what I could actually wear (Limi). Thats all I meant!:flower:

i think that was very well said helena...:flower:

how come these designs are so relatively unknown over here?
i mean, honestly, i have never heard of limi feu and trace before, but some of these outfits are really to fall for.... really great and nice clothes! and wearable!

i know liberty...apparently there are TONS of japanese labels that are not available outside japan... i think there are export issues...etc...

with some of them...by the time the garments are shipped...there is so much duty and tax added onto the cost...that the prices are completely unreasonable...i've been do a bit of research on it myself...because i am LOVING some of these brands...
some others i would like to know about and start threads on...

vetement
frapbois
G.V.G.V.

maybe runner can help with this?...
it is hard to navigate the japanese websites without being able to read it...

apparetnly yoohji and comme also have several other sub-labels that are only available there...
i was recently told that issey miyake has a collection that is basically all aprons...because apparently they are very popular over there and every woman has one...but they are so great that you could wear them as streetwear...

i'd love to find out more about all of this...we should start threads on each of these labels and post info as we find it...

oh thats sweet of you saying that.

so runner have you seen any of the Limi in the shops yet? I am not sure about skull jewellery - it might be a little harsh for me - I definately sway more towards cute prim than gothic.:P :flower:

yeah...i'll leave the skulls to the below 30 set...i think i've outgrown them now...
though i never even did them back then...i have that girly thing that helena has too, i guess...

i was never goth...i never wanted to look scary... but i can appreciate them on other people and think they can be quite wonderful...

i love the limi jewelry from fall...that stuff was stunning...i'd be curious to see the new stuff...
