Little Miss Sunshine movie

I saw this movie a few days ago...it was really really funny! Definitely offbeat humor. The imdb.com summary sounds strange and kind of boring...well that's probably because the plot is rather strange, but it's really funny

Olive is a little girl with a dream: winning the Little Miss Sunshine contest. Her family wants her dream to come true, but they are so burdened with their own quirks, neuroses, and problems that they can barely make it through a day without some disaster befalling them. Olive's father Richard is a flop as a motivational speaker, and is barely on speaking terms with her mother. Her uncle Frank, a renowned Proust scholar, has attempted suicide following an unsuccessful romance with a male graduate student. Her brother Dwayne, a fanatical follower of Nietzsche, has taken a vow of silence, which allows him to escape somewhat from the family whose very presence torments him. And Olive's grandfather is a ne'er-do-well with a drug habit, but at least he enthusiastically coaches Olive in her contest talent routine. Circumstances conspire to put the entire family on the road together with the goal of getting Olive to the Little Miss Sunshine contest in far off California.

It's not playing in many theatres but you can most likely find it somewhere.

Everyone on tfs is probably sick to death of my raving about this movie--ive talkked about it in so many different threads now!
I just will say that it was one of my most enjoyed movies ever..and i barely ever laugh that hard at a film.
I bought the soundtrack yesterday and thats stunning as well!
Everything about itwas poignant, exciting, hilarious, and believable. my favorite 06 summer movie

OMG! I went to see this movie expecting something else. However, to my surprised it was funny as hell. Although, I'm not into their attire in the movie, the overall humor was a hoot!

Fun fact - originally they had asked Bill Murray to play Steve Carrell's role.

I'm going to see this movie today. It's been on my list for quite some time.

I absolutely loved LMS! at first I only went to watch it for paul dano, but it was so hilarious. Its the only movie that has really made me laugh in a long time

And quite refreshing to see a movie free of a lot of sexiness... and sex... that gets so tiring in American film.
