Just congrats on a year where she has the most quantity of Vogue covers.
She has three this year, her most ever. With so, so many VC covers feel like she won’t get one next year… which leave the opportunity to see her on Vogue Singapore, Vogue Taiwan, Vogue Japan… Vogue Korea, or maybe Vogue Hong Kong. (Unless there’s a reason she won’t do it?)
Oh, and Vogue UK, Paris and Italia…
Chanel, do your magic.
(Interestingly, LW hasn’t appeared in British Vogue under Enninful’s leadership. Seem trivial but has he forgotten about her? Has been years they’ve worked on a project IIRC. They should do another multi-model cover story and cast Liu Wen—the most probable scenario she’ll front a VUK cover.)
The VC x LW bond is
firmer than ever. Good for both parties on this particular issue/achievement. Thanks
JoeHsiang for the pics.
While there’s a variety of concepts through six different perspective—overall, I think it’s all right given the unusual circumstances—however, still waiting to see her directed in other kinds of stories… for example, a Bardot inspired spread in everything from fashion, sleek makeup, playful hair to locality and studio in colored and black shots, sophisticated, chic, opulent, raw, French elements, and sex appeal. This type of modeling/visual tends to come more natural to Liu Wen (one of her stronger suit IMO). Have no doubt she’d execute this aesthetic/styling, if collaborate with the right team. Still pushing her towards VP’s direction, simply think she fits VP much more—she just gotta give it, get into character and allow herself to be freer. VP just need to get on board, be more open-minded and take “risks.” Plus, it’d be more high fashion stories from LW whereas her Chinese work tend to stray away from the ‘model’ LW and focus more on the ‘personality’ of Wen herself (which make sense too, she’s a famous public figure and a model-business woman).
See what's left for 2020 (and Chinese unrelated?).
