Many of the designers showing in Paris seem to be so far behind on embracing the internet, so unfortunately it's no surprise to me.
In looking into the live streams, I couldn't believe how many Facebook pages were dormant, having not been updated for years - big designers, too.
For example, Balmain - huge designer, 80,000 fans on their Facebook page, but it hasn't been updated since 2009. Their website looks like something from the 1990s, too.
There's so many examples like this - many haven't updated for weeks or months (Lanvin, Dries Van Noten etc), Balenciaga has 170,000 likes of their Facebook page, but last updated in 2009.
So for whatever reason (exclusivity, maybe?), many of these designers feel they don't want to be accessible. I think for as long as this is the case, we'll always struggle with live streams from Paris.
