i've noticed lots of leather but leather dresses in particular seem notable so far this season...

oh man, i'm hoping this will turn into a full blown mega trend! here's hoping the look trickles down.

i'm a big fan of leather for its durability, versatility during the seasons and all around "look". B)

i'm really drawn to those rich brown leather dresses especially...
there's something so great about those colors and the variations that brown can have...
from the more cholocatey to the more orange hues...

i'm hoping it will trickle down as well lucy...
i certainly can't afford the uber-expensive designer versions...

also.. i think this is a bit of a continuation from last season where we were seeing leather dresses for ss 10

i loved a lot of what was presented at that time but definitely think it will be more wearable and appropriate for the f/w season given the weather

I love this trend - and I agree ChrissyM, a continuation from last season! I never expected red leather dresses to look so great either :D

I have a full leather dress... however it's so heavy to wear.
It feels like you are very amour. I'm still yet to wear it out anywhere... it was too amazing to not purchase. I think I will start wearing it in winter, it is Ellery and has detachable ladybug style wings/sleeves.

I think Kirrily Johnston also did a leather skirt this season, it was a wrap style with buckle fastening.

It feels like, in the past couple of years, leather has taken a big step towards being accepted for it's positive attributes rather than shunned for the "negative" associations - most of which are false myths or egregiously outdated stereotypes.

People seem to forget that the now-mainstream leather jacket was considered a strong "statement" only a few decades ago. Now, people in their 70's wear them.

It's Leather: the sequel. This winter was also about a lot of leather. It's amusing to see that they're going to try again next fall. It didn't quite succeed in my country (Holland), this past season.

 It does have that leather-y look

I really like it when the leather isn't that thick and stiff
a client of mine had the sweetest tiered leather skirt yesterday, I almost couldn't believe it was real leather because it was so light and delicate

I am really loving all the leather right now:wub:

^^me too

lots of really great leather skirts on the runways this season too...

i'm loving this thinner leather as well..
seems much more wearable and moves well...
has a more "flexible" look... less rigid

Love the second leather dress by Araks, it looks a little bit plastic in that Marni, quirky way.
