Didn't know where to put this, mods feel free to move it.

I wanted to ask our UK members about the status of a brand Lonsdale. Is it considered rubbish for chavs (see I'm learning :smartass: ), or is it an Ok brand? I think it's a refreshing alternative to Puma/Adidas in the US, but I'd like to know how it's perceived in the UK. Thanks in advance.

Rubbish for charvs/slightly ironic. Also rubbish for trendies.

Thanks, Prince. You killed it for me. Is it Ok to wear around the house? :p

i havent seen any charvas wearing this brand maybe i havent been looking hard enough. i have seen it sold in topshop though. i actually have a pair of their shorts quiet retro but i wear them for bed! that says it all!:ninja:

my friend did a campaign for them and he looked so adorable!
but yea i think its a bit chavvy

except the store in covent garden has one of those gay rainbow flags outside so i think gays buy a lot of things there.......gay chavs? is that possible

it is actually a brand that german neo-nazis wear...especially logo-sweatshearts...so that when they leave their jackets open only the letters nsda are to be seen. for that reason alone i have always thought it detestable.

In Germany only Skinheads and "Low class people" wear it...

But Fred Perry is cool here - it`s like "the rudeness of Lonsdale meets the Preppyness of Lacoste".

yeah I've never heard of that neo nazi thing before!!

I'm sure GALLIANO has copied the curving Lonsdale logo for the front of his underwear as outerwear .

Nuff said .:yuk:

NOTHING would surprise me about that nincompoop , did you read last Saturday's epic about the scarves ?

The field behind my house is full of splodgy cowpats ! I KNOW where I'd just LOVE to shove one :innocent:

i still like lonsdale..it doesn't have any of those issues attached to it over here and i still associate it with mods and with paul weller and the jam who wore tons of it originally in the late 70's...

i love the logo bags and the wrestling shoes...
i'm not going to stop liking it because of some meatheads half a world away...

Yep, overall is a brand associated with skinheads. A bit like Fred Perry but a Fred Perry shirt only has a small logo, and Londsdale is pretty recognizable.

It's forbidden to wear it here in Holland on schools, it is hugely associated with nazi-stuff here...basically because only "neo-nazis" and other people that think nazi-orientated wear it here, you'll never see anybody else wear it here...

Softie
the skinheads in NY also wear Lonsdale....racist and not. Fred Perry and ben Shermans are also a staple of their wardrobes.

yeah what is this about fred perry and neo-nazi's? I've never heard of any of this either.
