L’Oréal Paris and Balmain Paris Unveil New Lipstick Collaboration

By Paige Reddinger | August 21, 2017

L’Oréal Paris unveiled a new lipstick collaboration and accompanying campaign with Balmain Paris featuring creative director Olivier Rousteing and his army of top mods. The campaign celebrates a lipstick capsule collection featuring 12 couture matte shades by Color Riche.

Shot by Nico Bustos, the cast of 12 diverse models represents three tribes of L’Oréal Paris x Balmain Paris. Each model’s clothing and pout colors represent Balmain’s tenets of rock, couture, and “glamazone.” The idea behind the collection is that there is a shade to compliment every complexion.

“No matter your origin, no matter your tribe, come together, be seen, be heard,” said Rousteing in a press statement. “United, we are invincible. Because we are all worth it.”

Making up the L’Oréal Paris x Balmain Paris tribe are famous faces like Lara Stone, Cindy Bruna, Doutzen Kroes, Soo Joo Park, and Grace Bol, to name a handful. Each model was assigned a color named after an attitude, an idea or an action (check out their assigned shades below).

The L’Oréal Paris x Balmain Paris Color Riche collection is set for official release beginning in September just before Paris Fashion Week, for which L’Oréal Paris is an official partner.

So cheap, I can't handle it. Very ANTM indeed. And of course his plastic face had to be front and centre.

Only good thing: the cast is diverse.

It looks just as fake as Olivier's face. The only good thing here is literally diversity and the cast because the clothes look like a hot mess, even more than usual.

The clothes are actually quite prominent in this shot which leads me to believe that Bailmain's suits insisted on this before greenlighting this venture.

Appreciate the diversity in casting but this is a overphotoshopped mess! This could've been epic with a different concept and without Olivier.

Lol, this is so bad, but it's Olivier, so...
Anyway, this is good for the girls! So happy Grace, Maria, Ysaunny, Cindy and Ming are in this!

Well, he's good on the diversity front, I'll give him that. Shame its such a hilariously bad outcome, but it was to be expected. Olivier lives in his own bubble lol

Looks terribly cheap, which is hard when you book that many amazing girls.

Olivier never fails to insert himself in the campaign photos...

This looks awful! A shame that this is the final result when you have an incredible lineup of models.

Why he seem to be everywhere?
I think he’s trying to be like 70’s Halston who capitalizing in his looks too
