LV Homme has been hot wild trash for decades at this point. Virgil was their lowest ever with Kim Jones only lessening the blow.

P x LV is the best LV Homme has ever been in terms of actually producing a wearable creative vision.

After a second view, I don't even like the first looks . The fit is clumsy and the shoes are ugly. I prefer the black outfits near the end.

I like the crocodile jackets, the black one and the one with a denim effect at the beginning.

I like the sunglasses.

I like a lot two looks, but one reminds me of Carhartt, the other one reminds me of Slimane Dior Homme.

Interesting that the leopard print and the floral camos are reinterpretations of the logo - still I don't like them.

Surprisingly, I don't like the bags.

Another logo collection with some clothes in it. Instead of trunks, they have to release a logo collection of coffins (because they are cheapening the image brand to death and beyond).

Also...there are parts of it which make me think if "Hello Kitty" was in the mood board, or as an undercover collab; or if Sanrio was directly designing this...for adult men (presumably).

Definitively the weakest offering so far but men's LV is all about bags and Speedy P9 is just obscenely popular and already iconic. My friend has one in green and the quality is top notch. He is there to create "it bags" for men, the rest is just decorum.

It is a trunk show, not so much of a seasonal collection.
I think there was no theme, just pieces and familiar silhouettes styled together to make a collection.

I will give it to Pharrell, he has his « LV Silhouette »: straight jacket with wide legged pants. I actually think that this season, he has mastered his silhouette as it looks less unfortunate on those men’s bodies.

From a fashion POV, this collection has nothing more to offer than consumerism but that’s also good for Vuitton because there’s an indéniable merchandising appeal to those clothes and bags.

A lot of those individual pieces will pop in stores. And I think the simpler pieces also works. The velvet tracksuit, the simple wool car coat, the alligator bomber, the red and cognac bomber.
I see a lot of pieces that can work on a different context than the one illustrated by the show. If some men are imaginative, they can find something for themselves.

I can see the cognac and red bomber styled in a Hedi Slimane way for example.

Overall, I don’t think there’s much to talk about with Vuitton by Pharrell. It’s retail gold and that’s it. And I also think that the weakness of Gucci benefits Vuitton. When I look at Ancora collections, I find it really hard to imagine people wearing them…And it’s the case. A lot of brand ambassadors in Gucci but I actually see people IRL in Vuitton by Pharrell.

First of all, he needs to stop with the wheelbarrow gimmick stunts because they have become tiresome at this point.

As for the collection, it resembles A Bathing Ape but with Louis Vuitton logos slapped on every possible garment. There’s nothing remarkable about it; it barely meets expectations from the Pharrell x Nigo collaboration. I guess this is what the suits wanted when they hired him—less emphasis on design and more on the impact of streetwear culture.

It’s easy to criticize Pharrell, but he is delivering what he was asked to do; he isn’t pretending to be something he’s not. I’m sure this will be a hit with their target audience.

What I need to point out is Nigo. He should either stop taking on side projects like this and focus on Kenzo, or just leave Kenzo altogether to pursue what he truly wants. Currently, Kenzo looks like it’s not receiving the attention it deserves.

Overall, move on to the next season, please.

Me personally, I only buy Louis Vuitton womenswear because it’s by Nicolas. So I generally try to buy the pieces that have less to no logos.
I don’t mind monogram on bags though.

But I totally understand that in the range of Vuitton customers, the majority wants the coat with the visible monogram lining, the monogram shirt and things of that nature.

Vuitton menswear has a proper, less Branded proposition but I totally understand that someone who goes to buy clothes at Vuitton wants it because it’s Vuitton.

When I go to a Vuitton store, I also look at the menswear and can generally find pieces that my husband can wear because there’s so much stuff that doesn’t have that loud aspect.

There are cute pieces in this collection but it’s fair to say that the luxury customer won’t necessarily go to Vuitton for a cashmere car coat, wool simple shirt jacket.

But I think it’s also up to men to look at things beyond the styling to not feel forced to buy « merch ».

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think Louis Vuitton by Pharrell is more appealing than Dior by Kim Jones.

^^^ All Saints/Top Shop/Reiss is more appealing than Kim. And Pharrell’s stronger than both Kim and Virgil combined since his debut. This brand has never been about great menswear, even during that golden age of fashion, Vuitton men's only memorable effort was plastering the Supreme logo all over their signature bags. Now that the industry is scraping the bottommost of the barrel and charging obscenely for it, this sort of generic streetwear basics plastered with logo/monogram/signature looks as competent as any other brands’ menswear. Just unfortunate that he did seemed to have made some effort when he debuted, but now is making the minimum of efforts churning out streetwear uniforms for rich 13yos— or wealthy 40yos that still dress like 13yos. Likely because all the pre-Season logo-heavy merch collections sell so well. Vuitton menswear is just the expensive version of Supreme now. The graphic of this jacket is actually cool: twirling the monogram into a psychedelic swirl. That's the style of graphics he will be remembered for. You couldn’t feed me enough drugs to pay for it; but if I were gifted this, I wouldn’t refuse it. "Running errands" jacket.

For me this looked like his first collection with any zest, and I'm crediting that to Nigo (or their collaboration). I wasn't bored, and I thought it looked like an authoritative statement from the luxury-streetwear ruler. I assume that's the place they want to be. I wouldn't buy it, but I assume it's very easy to pick up and wear.

Yeah, the trunks need to stop if they haven't brought Picasso from the dead to paint one.

This comes from TheFashionSpot thread about Virgil's fw2020, one of my favorite Vuitton mens.
The suspended-pannels-construction is a copy from R. Rucci, the clouds are a copy of Kenzo... ok.
Now, from the fw25, please show me one look that is technically a little challenging like this. Just one.

So no, I fail to see this collection as the epythome of Vuitton mens. They can do so much better.
