Louis Vuitton S/S 2026 Paris

Honestly I really enjoyed watching the show and thought the collection was for the most part beautiful. Yes, I said it. It seems that both the Vuitton woman and man are in their soft girl/boy era, but whereas the clothes from Pharrell were luxurious but forgettable, you once again have some real fashion propositions from Nicolas again here. Can't recall the last time he did something as relaxed and feminine, perhaps Balenciaga Resort 2013?

As ever there are some things that I don't like; those high dickies/collars look totally impractical and the looks with the ruching/ruffle, like the one on Mona are perfect examples of NG's love of ugly. And again some pieces are very heavy looking for spring. And the soundtrack was totally pretentious, compared to "Blouson Noir" last season. I can only take so much Cate Blanchett.

The looks on Mica (minus the collar) and on Charlie Jones are probably the stand outs ATM.

The rose colored slubbed satin jacket with the Mongolian goat fur collar is so weird I love it. Leave him alone he's 100x more honest than most of everyone on the calendar which feels crazy to say considering his restraints come from Louis Vuitton.

Honestly I like it more than I should. At this stage and status, he could have given an auto pilot collection but this is him trying. Some are really not working at all. But it has a point of view that the team can work of more commercial products. The set really do elevate it.

There’s a lot of different potential collections in here all smashed together which I guess induces a kind of fun for Nicolas but honestly I’m a bit whelmed. Maybe because I expect that kind of thing from him now so I’m not really excited or annoyed. It’s just business as usual. The shoes are atrocious. Whatever happened to a heel? Many of these looks need a good heel.

What I would be interested to know though is what a difference a week could make. Usually LV closes the month, but being day 2 of Paris there’s still another 7 days of shows. Curious to know what changes would have occurred by then.

Its nice he is starting to have flou in his clothing which otherwise are always rigid. There are some nice pieces but overall most of this clownish , LV needs a new designer now.

It’s really hard to digest and challenging on the eyes. At the same time some pieces and looks are beyond delicate and almost ethereal. I keep missing the focus and cohesion his balenciaga collections had, but this fragmented showing is an industry wide malaise. Also the location is top notch. Paris seems to be the last stronghold of creativity.

From that look onwards, it started to go wrong: embroidered thick bathrobes with crystals, nods to victorian infant gowns, wool winter scarfs as belts, systematically hideous shoes....

I found interesting the first 7 looks till Mica or Julia. And then, from the rest the two sets of shirt/trouser full in white.
In fact, the second one, look 34, felt like an anomaly in that ocean of extravagant references: so simple and elegant.

I dream of a Nicolas collection having look 34 and the last one (full in black knit) as starting points.
That would be refreshing: Nicolas' minimalism.

I’m obsessed by these two looks. The white look moved so beautifully!
And the black look is pure heaven. Almost tempted by the pre-order thing on the black look.

And I love this jacket! Probably cost a house! Too bad I can’t go to the Resee to see it up close. That degrade is quite stunning!

If this wasn’t Ghesquiere, no one would give this a glancing thought.
my thoughts exactly. i sat down yesterday to watch the show but had to stop with look 4. it indeed felt like watching a school art project. as a whole, it's plain ugly.

Maybe the early showing is to not take away the focus on the heavy weight Dior women?

I thought this is his more `accessible` collection in recent memory. I never really understand NG, from his Jennifer Connelly Balenciaga days to his current LV until this one.
This collection is way easy on the eyes than some diving suit material or giant colorful sports jacket like outerwear. So I dont understand some of the hate here ^_^ ^_^

Most of the clothes here look great in movement.
