Madonna a very strict mother

I hope her kids dont become too sheltered, the sheltered kids are always so naive and often run into more problems when theyre older because theyre not used to everything theyre being exposed to.

i cant think about the sex, but im sure there is one but theres fighting in die another day...

Better they see high quality sex and fighting than watch the brain goo that's specifically designed to turn children into mindless thralls to 'tubby custard', 'blue peter' ' the tweenies' & friends.

I'm always suspicious of people's motives when they set for "untypical" decisions without the clear reason. To me it looks like she probably just can't make enough time/attention/dedication for her kids, so she's taking on something "different" to solve all the problems at once instead of taking things step by step. Pretty common.

I think watching TV is an essential part of everyone's daily life and keeping updated on what's happening in the world, nowadays. As for children, not only is it fun they're intitled to, but a source of knowledge also. It's important to educate kids on all aspects of life and things like books, games etc. simply don't cover the apsence of TV. Especially when her children are already isolated enough from the rest of the world with the life they're leading being different to other's.

And, yes, the thought of that she simply doesn't want them to see her in there did cross my mind sometime at the middle of the first page of this thread.

When I have children I will also limit TV for them, but that's because I don't want them to see sex or violence at young age. And as to educating them culturally and encouriging to have a more quality free time and expand imagination I think the right way is TO INVENT NEW THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR KIDS RATHER THAN TO ELIMINATE THE ALREADY EXISTING ONES. If parents give enough time and attention for children, the latter will lose a lot of interest for TV and PC games.

I thought this was a bit related; a brief clip on Courtney Cox, and how she lets Coco watch the telly, from CNN.com:

Courteney Cox: 'I like TV'

NEW YORK (AP) -- -- While Madonna doesn't let her children watch television, Courteney Cox takes a different approach.
"I like TV," Cox told "Access Hollywood" in a recent interview. "It all depends what it is."
When asked how she keeps her 16-month-old daughter, Coco, grounded, the 41-year-old actress laughed and responded, "The Wiggles," the popular children's program based on the singing group.
Cox, who is married to actor David Arquette, starred on NBC's hit comedy "Friends."
Madonna told Newsweek she doesn't let her children, 9-year-old Lourdes and 5-year-old Rocco, watch TV or look at magazines.
The 47-year-old singer said milk and ice cream are also off-limits, and she's strict about laundry duties.

aww poor kids. no TV at all is a bit extreme, what's wrong with the better cartoons like... hmm well don't really know what stuff there is on nowadays but as if she can't buy em a set of Cosgrove Hall dvds or something harmless like that.

very funny but in reality I think this would screw your kids up.

Madonna is such a hypocrite. I remember reading that interview when she was talking about how strict she was. Did anyone watch her documentary on MTV the other day? She asked her son, Rocco, who is the queen? And he replied "You are mommy". Blech!
