Maison Margiela Paris Men's F/W 2016.17

There is cool element that I really like it.

Very well-thought out offering. The elongated sleeves and hems look so crisp and accessible— not cartoony, sloppy and lazy like at another designer’s offering. Can’t dress like this here at Goodwill!

That fusion of more classical menswear given a deconstructed retelling— but with more of a slant towards a woman’s longer and leaner silhouette, with those vents/ slits to resemble the long vests in womenswear of the 1970s, is very well executed here.

The suiting is elegant and still off— with toggles in place of buttons. I love that.

So awesome, the Menswear collections have been on a roll for awhile and this is no exception. References and Margiela-esque codes aside, this feels contemporary and fresh; It's the kind of feeling or nowness that I'd like to see at Jil Sander or Dior Homme. Did John actually designed something or just oversaw it as the previous time ?

In lust with the long coats with those exaggerated vents. To. Die. For.

Superb! It seems like John had much (if any) input in this, yet it's probably the best thing Margiela has put out for ages.
