Maison Margiela Resort 2022 Paris

I think some of this looks pretty good! Nice surprise even if it’s a pre collection. I actually see a lot of galliano’s personal style in this. Too bad I’ve been out-priced lol.

I do think it’s kind of annoying how they’re outright saying they’re focusing on marketing to 17/18 year olds though like pls

I like that this is a normal picture and not those annoying GIFs anymore. The lookbook reminded me of Vogue Italia editorial by MAS and Meisel.

I like it. It's a resort so the clothes are very commercial, straight to the point. It's a perfect balance between John and the codes of Margiela. Kinda cliché but I like the way John reworking the trenchcoats. He executed them flawlessly so it's really hard not to like it. My favorite piece is the coat with the crisscross details.

What I don't like is they didn't hide that they're trying hard to sell those straws hats. It's a very dominant and in-your-face kind of way. For a house like Margiela, it's should be more subtle, but you gonna make easy money first.

I do like the bags tho.

It is glad to see the Galliano work, I missed him in the fashion week Pret a Porter

Where’s the Galliano glamour and his signature bias cut?!

I wish they did the oversized straw hats for the whole look book, it would've been a lot better. Otherwise this is a solid collection, there is some fabulous outerwear and the new bag is nice too. Now he just needs to start doing runway presentations again. I need to see these clothes in motion and not in the form of some terrible GIF lookbook.

as a Resort collection I think it’s absolutely gorgeous. plus, the pictures are like paintings. bravo.

also, reminds me of those old editorials at Vogue Italia.

It’s a great collection. Much more in the spirit of Margiela while still having the Galliano romantic touch.
I hate the theatrics of his runway shows so if lookbooks means good clothes, I don’t mind it.

It's very chic. I love almost everything. In fact, the only thing I do not like are the chunky fashion sandals. I will never get those. Everything else is gorgeous. It's very sumptuous, very real looking.

And I agree with everyone else that the lookbook is very beautiful. Very Meisel for Vogue US circa 2003. I will gladly trade runway shows these days for very well executed lookbooks like this. Models just can't do catwalks these days, so I say skip it until they know how to walk again. That's also why I love what Olivier is doing with his last two collections. Models aren't good enough now to matter.

Very normal and down-to-earth, for Galliano, but his hand is still present in the overall feel of the garments. Some really inspired styling too.

I like that they kept some of the seaside inspiration from the couture and the spring collection, however this one goes down much easier. It has good balance, it remains his but it’s also clear, wearable and somewhat true to Margiela’s vision.
