i try not to look at Malaika's instagram, because she comes across as a bit of a self-obsessed brat. BUT - if i just focus on her actual modelling, she's quite excellent and just absolutely gorgeous. truly unique looking and radiant and beautiful. a face you can't forget.

I second that completely. I had to unfollow her for that exact reason. But her modeling is really exquisite and she can make common catalog poses looks so expensive and editorial.

I think we should cut her some slack. She's young and still fairly new. Crafting a public persona is something that takes time and practice.

^ There's no excuse for behaving like that. Especially when you're a model and thousands of eyes are watching you. In my opinion, when you're a newbie like Malaika you should especially be careful and her agency should know that as well. Of course we don't know how she acts when she's around the industry people and fellow models.

She's still lovely though, but I don't know how much longer I can take this behavior (I liked Joan once until the same happened to her).

I too found Malaika's IG to come off as conceited and annoying. I haven't yet unfollowed but time will tell. I do think a large part can be attributed to her age as previously mentioned. Being full of yourself is never cute.

I find the criticism about her instagram unwarranted. Ppl want to know about her and what she does and that's what she posts along with the occasional inspirational quotes and stuff about her family. Isn't instagram supposed to be about you? what should she post endless pics of pumpkin spiced latte?
