sigh. malaika picked up some steam earlier in the week (about the same time aya was out a couple of days at a photoshoot) and then it slowed down later in the week. and she wasn't a JW Anderson when she was there last season... i hope her management starts hustling better for her or something. there's no reason why she shouldn't be in more shows/have more campaigns (ala binx) since she had such a strong start.

It's truly awful that for one black woman to rise (aya jones) one has to lose steam and suffer a setback (malaika).

I came here specifically to write that. It's like Aya Jones has been seen as a 'replacaement' to Malaika, which sucks.
