thanks solg - i'm a moron! i think my legs are probably similar to hers so maybe the shoes wouldn't look good on me but i think it's more that her dress isn't all that flattering plus the bright lights shining on her legs that looks off. I think they would look super cute with straight leg jeans....

I think you're right Meg, I think it's a combination of the dress/angle of the shot that makes them look so bad. I think maybe a dress with a little more length (just over the knee perhaps?) and they might look a little better. Or with jeans. Or I would try wearing them with red tights maybe. But then I would probably look like a Christmas elf
