guccigal,

i cant wait to see a pic of your shoes!!!! :woot:

i found the camo SEDARABY in my size on ebay.. shall i get it?
what do you think? I love it!

OMG! The camo sederaby is what I wanted to ask about, too.

Does anyone have good pics? I really want to see the pair on feet, not just on top of a box.

Do they run TTS? I'm a true 8.5, but I only have one pair of Manolos in a 39 and they are a tiny bit tight.

there are pics posted in the thread.

I saw go for 38 or 38.5

they just got new shipments in so call Karen at Neiman Marcus short hills...ext 2189 she is in handbags. tell her a gal from Dallas sent you.............

and she can send both to you! to try! they are FAB

^i usually wear a 36 in manolo blahnik or choo, but for the sedaraby, i got a 35.5 bc it fit just a touch better that way. i was about to get the 36, but i liked how the smaller size was just snug enough.

Satin versus. Kidskin?

Can anyone enlighten me as to which I should buy for my girlfriend?? Thanks.

well...satin is a little more dressy...and easier to get dirty.

kidskin is casual, etc

do you have any styles in mind? what will she wear them for? do you want to go with special or go with something to wear every day?

Looking for something to wear casual. Something for a regular day, comfortable, and simple. I was thinking of the MB's Kidskin High-heel halter in Black colour. Any suggestins would be appreciated. Also looking for best place to buy them. I'm in Toronto Canada, and have bought some from Neiman Marcus in the past and had family in NY bring them to me when they visited, but they aren't visiting for a while and I don't want to be charged a fortune for duty fees. Is Neiman Marcus my best bet?

Thanks

I saw neimans is good but you will have to pay duties. or ebay and have the seller mark as a gift.

do you have a style you like on nm.com?

I don't know the duties for your country. I know you can email naturalgasgirl on ebay and she will get them for you for a fee....and then ship them marked as a gift.......

The last time I ordered from Neiman's and shipped to Canada the duty and taxes came to $303.59 on a $730 pair of Manolos!! I dunno if that's normal or if someone at customs seriously messed up...the value they declared on the forms was correct...thankfully they didn't fit anyway so I returned them and went through the hassle of getting the duty back. So yeah...I get everything shipped to my boyfriend in Rochester now, I've learned my lesson. :P

I've seen those Manolos at Brown's in Toronto in the black kidskin but they may have been the mid-heel, not the high-heel, I'm not sure. If I stop by there tomorrow I'll check for you. They have locations at Bayview Village and Hazelton Lanes, among others, but I'm not sure how many of the other locations have Manolos. http://www.brownsshoes.com/

The only other place I've seen Manolos around here is Holt Renfrew at Bay and Bloor but they don't have that style as far as I know.

Thanks for all your help. I'll try to find some in Canada. Maybe i should just wait until my family comes to visit. No need to pay half the price of the shoe for customs fees right?

let me tell you something about women...I owe yours are not good. have something wrapped under the tree on Christmas day

Yeah. I gather what they do is take 20% of the price for duty, add that to the price of the shoes, and then calculate GST and PST on that entire amount. So you pay the duty plus the tax on the shoes -and- the duty. It can add up...it sucks. :(

But yeah, definitely check at Brown's before ordering anything, they seem to be good at carrying the basics (except for the 4" pumps I want, of course) and they also have those new black Dean sandals with the elastic strap, I think they're cool. :)

why dont you have them shipped to your family and your family ship to you as a gift?

guccigal. Good one... I owe yous. LOL. Not to worry. Christmas is already wrapped up. Gifts are under the tree. Our anniversary is coming up in January and I figured, nothing says "I love you" like a new pair of Manolos?!? Thanks for all your help.

Great idea. Don't know why I didn't think of that. So as a gift, there is never any tax or duty???

yes nothing says it like manolos. will they be up before your anniversary? def have something ON the date....but if they ship usps global express just ahve them put a low value and as a gift......

What would you put as the value? $100.00? Less? More? Just hope the border agent isn't a connaisseur. LOL.

whatever you want. the problem is when you lower the value you can't insure but I have never had a problem.
