^ I bet they do not look that bad on... and hideous is a really tough critique.. not my favorite for Fall but how can Manolo be hideous? IMHO

I know others may completely disagree with me, but for me Manolos have always been a hit (a classic that I can keep for years) or a miss (one that I would never wear) like those boots up there ^..

But for the most part it's the former...

Yes, I'd love to see them in real life to see the details that are lost or flattened in a photo. I wonder what the gold material is around the boot? Beads? I've always been a huge fan of white boots but I don't own any because I could never keep them white for long! There's something really fresh about white boots in the winter, and I like the gold touch to make these different. I'll bet you're right Ciao Bella - they most likely look very different on.

I think the beading is quite beautiful & interesting ... the only part that seems a bit awkward to me is the heel ... but as mentioned, that may look different on & from different angles than this one.

I agree. The heel looked a bit awkward to me but I'm pretty sure they look different and much better on.

Manolo had a fabulous white opened toe bootie with B/W ponyhair insole with a silver ornate design running down the top of the foot (S/S 08). Our own Mona13 picked them up and they looked a bit odd in print or online and are absolutely *FABULOUS* IRL on the foot of Ms. Mona13....just love them! Granted, yes, to each their own but I have certainly learned with most premier designers...a heel takes on an entirely different life once prominently displayed 'south of the ankles' versus on a shelf or in a catalogue. I bet the boots above are quite the site IRL... again, IMHO.

I know which boots you're talking about, Ciao Bella! You're right - I didn't think much of them until I saw them on Mona13 and realized how amazing they look on. They also look great in person - the boutique still has them I believe (or did have them the last I went up there). Those are really special.

lol since when is he above being hideous? But i dont like them at all, the gold craftstore looking details bother me. And i dont like the shape of the heel, while innovative, as some of you have already have mentioned.

My favorite is the Sedaraby and other d'orsay styles like the recent zebra print that I got this year and the satin with the feathers over the toes which will be my wedding shoes; I have pre-ordered the pink and the purple Sedaraby. I have silver, camoflauge and a blue/red paisley print currently. I always keep my eye out for these styles. I haven't gotten into much else though.

^^^ I loooove the feather d'Orsays! They could not be more beautiful!!!

Me too... love the feathered d'orsay and actually am quite surprised they did not make a cameo in the SATC movie.

Manolo for Thakoon

Gucci (or anyone who knows).....
Any news on the Manolo for Thakoon shoes?

Quick sizing advise please -- are the Carolyne slingbacks true to size? Should I get them in my normal Manolo sandal size? Thank you.

^ The Manolo/Thakoon are very edgy :woot: Really all my favorite Manolos I think have been from his designer collaborations. I still remember some Peter Som shoes from a few seasons ago

Agreed - fashionista - ta! The Manolo / Thakoon and Manolo / Peter Som have been fantastic collaborations!
