Manolo has survived the test of time... if you ask me mainly cos it has been kept exclusive.. once you go out you become a cheap sell out. im afraid CL is going that direction even though they got some great styles. buyers tend to buy the same ones season after season and therefore we all end up with the same styles!!

That pink resort sandal is GORGEOUS!! I'm a sucker for anything pink.

I was walking to work today thinking about how I like CL for the sheer *sex* of his designs, while Manolo is so much more elegant and artistic ... the CLs I have really sex up an outfit, but when I wear the manolos I have, I always feel so much more like a lady.

Am I insane? I'm at a really high altitude, so my brain is suffering from a consistent lack of oxygen ...

I think Manolo's styles vary a LOT. Some are very classic, but I also think he has some very sexy styles for example the patent leather shoes with laces around the ankle and heels with Swarovski crystal embellished heels from last spring. They were very sexy.

In general CL is more typical for the period, but a style like the Decollete868 seems rather classic to me.

just got these in. I think the shape is so 40s vintage. I love it. I can't tell much bc I am at work and snapped a quicky. can't wait to get home and try them on in the mirror!

they are called Buc and come in blush sequins and gold trim like this or black sequins.

here is another pic and some thoughts......

I was so excited to get these today and I opened the box and I was taken back with the 70s colored disco heel.

I think the shape of this shoe is magnificent. And I do love the color of the sequins.

I was unsure about them all day. I called my SA about them and ask what color they are also coming in…she said black. And she was shocked I was not totally digging them.

I love the shape…the 40s appeal vintage shape but with all that gold on there..the gold trim and the gold heel…disco right?

I almost think the sequins and the shape are too much…the shoe needs to be a patent, leather or suede in a solid color…..

And the sequins should just be a simple sequin pump.

I think what really gets me is that bright bright gold…..because the sequins are actually blush sequins…..but the gold reflected on the sequins makes it just so bright.

I never thought I would say it but this shoe it just too flashy for me. I know if I had an event with a special dress that I need it would be one thing.

I even think the black is going to not work for me. I would love this shoe in a great deep colored patents or a bright suede…or a rich leather color….

But sequins too much.

I really wanted to love these. I even think this shoe didn’t have the bright gold…if they did a soft gold it would be one thing.

But anyway. Saves me some money. But that shape is soooooo neat and I love the vintage appeal but they just are too much.

A smash between vintage shape and disco color. Blah for me.

Would Campiby ever go on sale again? I wish to buy the Nude and Red if I can!

i was at manolo london... major disappointment as usual. everything from the minute i walk in there is always a disappointment
the only nice shoes were the Quakan (but only left in silver and gold... i passed) and the purple (or were they green) satin peep toes/half booties that guccigal got. those were pretty and they had quite a few different colours but they wouldnt look good on me
needless to stay i stayed in there for less than 5 minutes!!!!
very frustrating

I guess I am the only one who loves the Manolo store in London. I had a blast when I went in and came out with several pairs and talk to them on the phone and such....

I wish people had better experiences there!

I never even bothered going to the manolo store in London since it's really out of the way for me and i've heard utter horror stories about it.

GG - sorry you didn't like the shoes! they have a lot of great details about them like the cut out heel but if you won't wear them, then there's no point having them! Can't wait to see your next purchases
