Nothing is quite like the moment when a magazine finds its groove and Scandinavia SSAW Magazine certainly has with its S/S15 issue. The artistically minded glossy has always had impressive content, but the issue dubbed “July Nights” takes their darkly elegant sensibilities one step further with an issue that skews earthier and rawer than what we’ve seen from the publication before. Led by Creative director & Editor in Chief, Jakob Hysén Hedberg, the team creates a series of editorials that merge fashion, nature and the occasional nod to Ingmar Bergman into a delight for viewers. Boe Marion shoots model’s model, Kim Peers on the coasts of Bergman’s beloved Baltic island, Fårö the setting of classic films like Persona and Through a Glass Darkly. The cinematic influence infuses Marion’s story with an intensity and stripped down beauty that gives each image power. Elsewhere in the issue, Edita Vilkeviciute and Maja Salamon connect with nature via atmospheric stories that capitalize on each woman’s unique allure.
