Top 10 Newcomers - NYFW S/S 2014
New York Fashion Week drew to a spectacular close with two major show draw cards Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs presenting their Spring/Summer 2014 collections. IMA's final selection of Top 10 Newcomers for the day includes a diverse array of modelling talent who have been ubiquitous throughout the New York Spring/Summer 2014 collections. Exotic French native Ophélie Guillermand left no doubt as to her Top 10 Newcomers contention with appearances at Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Anna Sui, Ohne Titel, Cushnie et Ochs, and Tommy Hilfiger. Polish newcomer Marta Dyks was a compelling presence from Day 1. of NYFW setting the tone at BCBG Max Azria followed by Peter Som, Rag & Bone, Victoria Beckham, Rodarte, and Calvin Klein. IMG models Zlata Mangafic and Nouk Torsing were New York roomies and shared runway berths at Creatures of the Wind, Carolina Herrera, and Victoria Beckham. Silent's Teresa Dilger from Germany and current Paris Vogue favourite Hana Jirickova were two of the most charismatic personalities that IMA encountered during NYFW. Dilger was elegance personified at Tess Giberson, Rebecca Minkoff, Libertine, and Bibhu Mohapatra while industry veteran Jirickova proved that persistence pays off with stellar breakthrough appearances at Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger. Continuing the Australian domination of New York runways was Adelaide's Jemma Baines at Dion Lee, Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, Karen Walker, Sass & Bide, and Zac Posen. Wilhelmina's Russian recruit Alexandra Martynova was one of the most coveted show girls of the New York collections appearing everywhere from Peter Som to Yigal Azrouel, Thakoon, Carolina Herrera, Reem Acra, and Band of Outsiders. Diversity on New York runways was foremost on the minds of casting directors with Canadian/Tanzanian Herieth Paul leading the charge at Zac Posen, Prabal Gurung, Derek Lam, Carolina Herrera, Ohne Titel, and Rodarte. The super sweet Manuela Frey was one of the most hotly contested models of the New York collections amassing a staggering 20 shows with opening and closing hours at BCBG Max Azria, Ohne Titel, Thakoon, and Vera Wang. As the focus turns to the London, watch for this collective of Top 10 newcomers to continue their supreme runway presence.
