ROCHAS: PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S 2015, BACKSTAGE GIRLS

Alessandro Dell’Acqua, only in his second season at the helm of Rochas, made a nod to the house’s archives yesterday, without any feeling he was burdened by its history. Most explicitly this was executed through the pairing of complex vintage feeling floral and hummingbird motifs which had an almost magisterial quality, with the starkly modern twist of logo’d belts pulled tight around waists and chests. Though drinking it all in backstage we were largely distracted by the sight of Manuela Frey- lovingly known in Ten Towers as Marmalade (don’t ask), in a dress you can only really pull of when you’re Manuela Frey. No harm in dreaming we say. Isn’t that what us fashion folk signed up for in the first place?
