Marcus Hedbrandh for VNY. It was a last minute thing, "hey do you think you can shoot Marcus for us this weekend?". Luckily I had a studio day set up and I was able to get him in. It wasn't till they'd sent me an e-portfolio and I started looking through that I realized I'd seen Marcus before, in a Dolce & Gabbana ad from a couple of seasons back that was shot by Steven Klein. On top of that Marcus has been in quite a few major ad campaigns including Y-3, Benetton, Beyman Club among others, not to mention numerous editorials. Marcus hails from Malmo, Sweden and is making a return to the US after being away for a few years to pursue his university degree. I was surprised that VNY asked me to photograph him, considering the depth in his portfolio. I figured that someone like him doesn't need to test. Marcus has certainly not lost his step, he got right on set and just started kicking out look after look like the seasoned pro that he is. A pleasure to shoot and a very nice guy to work with we came away with quite a content rich session. For me working with someone of Marcus caliber is always a treat and we had a great shoot. The challenge with some one like Marcus isn't that lack of good images to choose from, it's that there's so many!
