the shorts don't work for me, but i love some of the outerwear and two of the skirt cuts in particular: the long pleated one, as in the first look (this whole look is great), and the long slouchy one, as in the second post, second row, first look. oh, and post 4, row 4 last look - love the sox and sandals in this outfit.
Probably one of the very few sane designers left: meaning, the clothes are grounded in reality and created with actual design integrity. I've really learned to appreciate her presence in fashion especially now that Jil Sander is gone again.
That said, I much prefer the darker pieces. This season's silhouettes seem to suit those particular shades more. And I agree: the shorts are not her forte.
I liked this collection, I thought it was very wearable and modern in a way. The color palette is very nice, I love those blues and the rust tones. The knitwear and outwear nice too, it feels very luxe without being too "in your face".
Gah, that pair of boots in patent leather... be mine.
So many nice pieces as usual, the navy dress... the coat with the double pockets on one side. She seems really into that length in shorts and I like that she keeps pushing it, I saw a guy some months ago really working that whole knee-length tailored shorts + turtleneck look, ironically but he still looked great, and you can tell he was having a kick out of wearing that in Los Angeles, how dare you're not trying to channel 'hotness' . I still think her clothes on the runway don't look half as fun and pretty as they do in motion, on regular people. And there's actually something so feminine and romantic about them.. more so than what's sheer or frilly. I certainly feel more like a girl when wearing my 'more like a boy' MH pieces.
took the words out of my mouth...
usually she balances the masc and femme so elegantly and effortlessly...
this season was tipped too far in the masc direction for me to find it appealing...
i don't even find it very appealing as menswear...
can't wait for next season, which i hope is back to her usual style...
