I so loved Margaux. I had seen her in Lipstick and thought she was a remarkable actress as well as being unbelievably beautiful. The critics didn't agree with me and thought Mariel had stolen the show (she was quite fantastic too, I must admit), but I collected every picture of Margaux I could get my hands on (as well as many other actresses I loved). Then, one day, I decided to grow up and took the excuse that I was moving to get rid of all my collections. Little did I know such a forum would later exist and I would be able to share my pictures. Often, biographers thank people who have held on to clippings from the era they write about as it helps them recreate the context better. It's easy to see why with the scans you post. Moral of the story : don't grow up ! hang on to your fantasies !

^^ How true!! I trashed over 150 old fashion magazines when I moved a couple of years ago...I'll never forgive myself...!!

Wow, Alicia--you are amazing! Thanks for finding and posting so much.

I think in so many shots, Margaux portrays such an innocent vulnerability in her eyes or her stare or even her mouth. Perhaps this is one reason she was so attractive to photographers. That and of course her stunning beauty.

alicia 573, you're making me rediscover Margaux. In your post 84, third picture down, she is incredibly beautiful and mature. Was she acting ? (in a movie?) It's almost as if she were playing a bereft mother, or something like that. I suddenly feel she would have been great in the Bertolt Brecht kinds of plays, or the Fassbinder movies. What beautiful portraits, so intense and poignant !

I'm pretty sure it's not from a movie but it's a serie of portraits of her taken in 1994 :flower:

I remember seeing Lipstick at the theatre so long ago. Does anyone know if there is a biography out about her?

^^^It is very hard to find. They don't have it at my local library, nor on Amazon, but as I was searching I came across blog with mostly repeated info about Margaux, but there is a youtube promo for Lipstick:

Huge thanks!:flower:
