Don't know if this has been posted, but here's a little blurb written about Toronto fashion week / Maria:

Glad to hear that security at the Liberty Grand is tighter than a supermodel's abs. When A-list mannequin Maria Dvirnik arrived for the Mackage show on Monday night, the first night of L'Oréal Fashion Week, she was refused entry because she didn't have a pass.

"But she's a model," her agent Elmer Olsen pleaded to the gatekeeper. "Look at her. She's 6 feet tall." Perhaps you might recognize her from one of the 65 shows she did this season in New York, Paris, Barcelona and Milan?

Olsen and Dvirnik finally begged their way in, though others, including a budding 14-year-old model from the Huntsville area whose mother took a day off work to drive her to Toronto, were given a hard time.

"We sponsored this show, giving them 17 girls for free, and we flew Maria in from New York," Olsen hissed. "Security is one thing but, please, let's all get on the same page."

Hopefully, things will go smoother for the Mississauga-raised Dvirnik as she departs for Prague to shoot the Ports 1961 fall campaign with creative director Tu Ly and designer Tia Cibani. After the shoot, Dvirnik and her mother will take a train to Ukraine to visit relatives they haven't seen since immigrating to Canada 13 years ago.

It was in my daily newspaper, The Toronto Star, a couple of weeks ago. They had a whole section devoted to Toronto Fashion Week. :)
