Marija is not Serbian, she is Montenegrin. Serbia and Montenegro are 2 countries, ex Yugoslavia.

Actually, Montenegro is unified with Serbia right now; although they have separate economic policies etc they co-operate in other ways...it's a weird sort of union but they currently aren't two completely seperate, exclusive countries. I have family in Montenegro and they actually identify themselves as Serbian to people not familiar with the region, on occasion. Montenegro may be a completely independent country sometime in the future (I think it has been from time to time in the past), but right now it's just a somewhat confusing union with Serbia. And Yugoslavia has been dissolved, it was never a true country but at first collection of "republics" which we now recognize as seperate countries in that area, later it was the union of Serbia and Montenegro. But the area is no longer called Yugoslavia.

Okay, I hope that wasn't too confusing. But the point was, Marija might on occasion identify herself as Serbian, until Montenegro is a fully independent state...

As you can see in my profile, I am from Montenegro. So, let's say that I know enough about my country...
Serbia and Montenegro are one country but two republics. As there are Serbian people, there are also Montenegrin people. Neither of them don't need independence for nationality... When we were in Yugoslavia, we were Yugoslav poeple, and now we are in Serbia and Montenegro, so we have Serbian and Montenegrin poeple...
