MARILYN MONROE'S famous pink satin dress, worn in the famous film Gentleman Prefer Blondes, has been sold for £213,000.
The size 14 gown in which Monroe sung "Diamond's Are a Girl's Best Friend" beat its expected asking price of £170,000 in one of Hollywood's largest auctions.
Other items sold included the Wicked Witch of the West hat worn by Margaret Hamilton in The Wizard of Oz, which reached £137, 420. The bottomless magic carpet bag worn by Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins was also sold, fetching £65, 274. Johnny Depp's ferocious-looking hands from Edward Scissorhands went for £18, 885 and his Pirates of the Caribbean jacket for £12,367.
