Interview for Vogue Brazil:
Behind a great woman there's always a great man - and in the case of the beauties of fashion campaigns it is the Brazilian Marlon Teixeira.Marlon is best ranked Brazilian male model on Models.com list of top 50 male models,the top of the time already worked with celebrities like Madonna and Megan Fox, beside of course jobs with the hottest models and he was even on cover of Vogue Hommes with veteran Stephanie Seymour.
Born and raised in Balneario Camboriu like a real beach kid, Marlon took some time from his well deserved vacation surfing in Indonesia to chat with Vogue. He told stories of backstage and spoke unreservedly about the famous with who he once worked.
Who is the sexiest model?
MT: I have worked with many models that I find very sexy, but to me the most,most sexy were Alessandra Ambrosio and Natalia Vodianova.
What was the most controversial job you had?
MT: I believe it was the Vogue Hommes, when I had cover and editorial with Stephanie Seymour. There was a lot of polemics about that cover.
Are you embarrassed to undress in "spicy" scenes?
MT: I got used. At first it was difficult, but I am surfer,lived life on the beach.When it comes to "spicy" scenes,it's just a job and i trully focus on work and cameras, then I imagine a character to rule out any kind of shame.
Is there any funny storie from backstage?
MT: There are many, but one that left biggest impression on me was with Megan Fox. The job was only with 2 of us and her whole team treated her as "untouchable",but between shootings she would always came to sit with me and talk about Brazil,giggling.
And most challenging shooting?
MT: Vogue Italia with Steven Meisel. Working with him was something what I really wanted ever since I start with modeling,and when I came in the studio,i just wanted to give my maximum. It was a challenge for me as professional to make this great photographer be happy with results of my work. I think I succeeded.
You surf without fear of getting hurt and endanger your body and career?
MT: I take more care when I am on places where i can get hurt.
I'm on vacation in Indonesia,I just got hurted,but it's nothing serious,just a few scratches on arm, but I try to take care of myself.
Who's the model who intimidated you the most on set?
MT: I think "intimidate" is to strong word ... I didn't get intimidated by any model, but of course I was nervous when i worked with Madonna. Everything that they talked me about her made me tense, but when i camed on the set, I relaxed.I didn't think of her as "Madonna" but as a woman who's posing with me.
What's the favorite part of your own body? And what's the part they mostly like to shoot on you?
MT: Ai,that's complicated! I'm happy with the body I have, but I think that I mostly care of my hair, especially when it's in a spot that I like.
