On the list of 50 sexiest brazilians by magazine IstoÉ Gente, occupying the 17º position
toonaripost.comOnly 19 years old and with a dreamy well-tanned body, the Brazilian model Marlon Teixeira is the one to follow, not only on Twitter but also on the runway. Despite his youth, Marlon already began his modeling career four years ago with a campaign for the brands Armani, Custo Barcelona, Triton, Blue Man and many more, gaining a reputation in the business.
He has worked on advertising campaigns for brands such as Dior Homme, Sergio K, Diesel and American Eagle. The camera loves him and big designers saw this natural gift, so with no doubt in my mind that Marlon has a promising future in the fashion industry, I decided to figure out more about The Man.
He is currently working with Wilhelmina Models, the prestigious New York-based agency and he kindly accepted an email interview:
Toonari Post (TP We saw you first in the Fuel For Life Denim collection commercial, did you attend casting or were you already a name in the business?
Marlon Teixeira (MT I started this job when I was 16 years old, I was a kid, I was a boy. I live alone and pay for my bills and I went from being a boy to a man from day to night. Working for Fuel for Life Denim was exciting, I enjoyed it so much!
TP: Modeling seems to be big names, photo shoots worldwide, cool parties — has your life in show business motivated you to pursue a celebrity career or a more common one in the future?
MT: This “world” is so beautiful but also so stressful. I think that success should come alone and [...] in my case has arrived because I was myself even when people around me changed.
TP: Social media adds additional pressure on celebrities — How are you handling this new progressive fame?
MT: I’m very happy to have fans, or people who simply love you and love your work. The media will talk — many times the media writes articles [that] I do not like [...] but accept. I love love, and I love the person [who] right now is next to me.
TP: What’s with the “kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk” on twitter, is that “the Marlon motto”?
MT: Absolutely not! “kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk” is an expression of Brazilian origin and means to laugh!
TP: What are you working on right now; a new commercial or something exclusive?
MT: I’m working on many projects, I always want more work and luckily for me, I have a lot of work. I’m considering what to do and what not to do.
For the moment it’s all a little secret!
TP: I’d like to finish the interview with a Chinese Portrait; “if you were ….” And you reply. If you were a “city”, ”a season”, “an object”, “a sport”, “a meal”, “a nightmare” and finally “a dream”.
MT:
City: Rio De Janeiro
Season: Summer
Object: White cake with cream
Sports: Surfing
Meal: Anything that is sweet
Nightmare: A murderess
Dream: History romantic.
Male models are not as well-known as female ones but I predict for the next decade that the young, masculine model generation will reverse the trend and with the growing sphere of social media, gain fame and new flavors in the fashion scene.
