Mary Katrantzou F/W 14.15 London

This is FANTASTIC!!. The icons, the signs, the metal work she incorporates into the outfits are so creative and fun to look at. It's like a superbly executed arts-and-crafts fashion project.

i feel like she is only good at those decadent dresses, some of the other stuff is really boring and just blends in with lots of other designers

for that reason this is her weakest collection in a while

I like it, it's something different from her usually digitally printed fest (with some embroideries maybe).. feel like she finally tried some new things and I love the pleated fabric with the metalwork

With each new collection she's becoming more "commercial". I suppose she's feeling the pressure from her buyers. However she manages to stay true to herself. Solid collection.

so glad she's moved away from those tired digi-kaleidoscope prints myself. still a visual feast but it feels more organic. it's rather refreshing really because you see more of the actual clothes not being overwhelmed by the patterns.

^ I totally agree, and I like that she's modified the shapes as well, so they're not so cardboard-ish. The entire collection flows, from one idea to the next.

Personally, I like the really long (those early looks) and the really short (the dresses with the suspender-like straps) silhouettes the best. Some of the asymmetry worked well too - like in those half lame/half pleated skirts that she showed with a peacoat and a matching tank top.

Less hideous, more class, and really surprised. I thought we would have a lot of prints on volumed garments but no! this is fantastic!

This is superb, I'm pleased to see she is moving away from her comfort zone and experimenting with new silhouettes like Not Plain Jane said the collection flows so well. I really love the chain mail like dresses in post #2

This is exquisite. The details are funny, smart, and beautifully done. I am sure they look even lovelier in person. A person could probably spend a long time making out all the symbols and iconography.

My only question is, what will the produced collection look like? Even the simpler pieces have embroidery and embellishments galore. I can only imagine that this would cost a lot of money to produce and buy.

Very smart move, this is impeccable collection. It's truly inspired and beautiful.
