I Jeans And Mavi Jeans

I am from Toronto Canada and I am new to this board. I have absolutely no fashion sense or have any idea of what is in or not. I am prepared to spend some time here before I go out and spend thousands on clothes that are no longer in style, so I hope everyone can help me.

I was at the mall the other day and I tried on this great pair of jeans for about $165. They were 'i' brand jeans and I had never heard of them. Are these good? trendy? in? out? What about Mavi? I went through the whole jean thread and didn't find anyone mentioning either of these.

Feedback would be appreciated.

it doesnt matter if theyre in or not. what matters is whether the jeans look good on you. you said the jeans were great, so why not buy them? i like mavi jeans, but theyre not as popular as other brands. theyre much cheaper though.

I agree with bee. Fit is really more important than brand. You might want to consider bringing a more fashion-involved friend shopping with you, so they can point you in the right direction.

Sooo here is another brand which has great jeans,tops,socks,dresses,flip flops...The Turkish brand is promising and is one of my favs! Mavi seems to have been around for ages. Pretty typical middle market denim brand. Had no idea they were turkish though. I always associate them with Silver as they always seems to be sold together in Canada, except Silver I know is a Canadian brand.

that's one of the bests in Turkey

I tried a pair of Mavi jeans, and their sizing was really off. I had to get a 26/35 (or was it 36?), I'm usually a 28/34. But they did make my thighs look really slim.

We had them last year in our store, they did really bad for us. Which is odd, because there usually is not a jean we cant sell.

They are pretty cheap and abundant here. Last time I was at Winners (department store selling last seasons clothes) they had at least 30 pairs in a bunch of sizes for about $40 each.

I don't the jeans are all that great-fitting....perhaps I just have an odd body but it was either too big around the waist and then not right on the bum.
