Max Mara F/W 2022.23 Milan

Great collection Ian Griffith did his thing and Carine delivered. The perfect mix of practical and editorial and the pieces are strong (compared to the spring collection).
The cast is perfect and the styling is fabulous.

It’s very Anne Marie Beretta and it also sometimes give some early 00’s Rick Owens vibes. I really like it and they worked on the teddy bear fabric in a way that feels credible for something else than coats.

My favorite collection of the season so far.
Well done Max Mara!

This is me getting old, maybe, but I just can't stand how pretentious (aesthetically and morally) most of fashion out there is, and totally devoid of design credentials.
Conversely, I can't help loving solid, subtle, not outrageously priced brands like Max Mara. They do what they do and they do it well, without too much fanfare but a steady client base.
There is a fundamental honesty in their work that I find refreshing more than any inclusivity b***s**t.

This is much better than previous season. I like the colors palette, the materials, the cuts make the collection look so luxurious. My favorite look is the closing one on Rianne.

It's interesting that Tonne Goodman styled this season instead of Carine. Maybe that's why I like it better. The styling works for the clothes, with Carine sometimes I feels like the clothes have to work with her styling.

I hope Tonne will continue to style for MM. Even doing campaign with Meisel. MM can do some visual overhaul.

really dry collection , loved seeing those ^ though especially stam !!

Considering that people are offended by everything nowadays I can see them calling out the looks that look like they are wearing hijabs.

Great collection and lovely presentation. Once again, the cast elevates the level of the collection. Hope it’s translated to print! A collab with Tonne, Meisel and Trentini would be a must have!

WOW.

What a collection. I am a little bit wary of the “contempoary” pieces geared towards a younger audince, but as a whole this was one of the best showings of the season.

I know MM is known for their camel color, but whatever hue of black they use is striking. Seeing it on screen does not due to color justice.

Wonderfully made, exqusite craftsmanship, and an element of desire that has been absent from Milan this season.

Bravo.

Oh dear— never thought for a moment that it may resemble a hijab. The headpieces instantly reminded me of medieval chainmail coif. That it looks so luxurious and toasty from an Italian brand just adds to the charm of the design and look. But you’re right: Some people will only be looking out to be offended and jump at the first opportunity to virtual-signal.

Reminds me very much of Michael Kors...
He wish he was this good…

Which is quite interesting…
It’s interesting to see how people are literally confused or ignorant about balaclavas or extreme weather dressing.

I find that today people have such a narrow vision of everything and are playing the games of some governments.

I mean, I wouldn’t necessarily wear a baclava unless I have braids but to confuse it as appropriation is another reach that I saw a lot on the comments on IG.

A thousand times more solid than last season's offering, and feel like Griffiths is back on track with such a collection. It's quintessential Max Mara and as per usual the coats are exquisite. The colour palette is gorgeous and the show as a whole just feels very coherent. Major fan of this!

It’s very true to Max Mara’s reputation as the place for neutral classics with an emphasis on the lushness of the materials. For me it remains not very exciting to look at and palpably unambitious, the styling is an improvement from the last few seasons but that’s all.
