Awful cast and expressions, both look horrible. I love MaxMara but they should get rid of Carine.

If anybody has a doubt that Carine is involved in this, I guess those doubts went away...
The collection wasn’t good...
I feel like Carine is the only one supporting Joan’s career at this point. It seems like she is only doing Carine’s projects...

I hope she did better for Tom Ford.

Need to see more because this looks subpar compared to last season.

Literally thought it was part of the autumn campaign, but then it appeared in a January issue. Even the clothes look very similar to previous collections, something I didn't pick up from the runway presentation.

I don't care for either of the girls, and I can certainly do without the cancer of the modelling industry (Instagirls!) for the next 10 years. But you have to give it to Joan. She and Karlie still get photographed by Meisel. Meghan Collison and the others who he apparently loved to shoot so much are now forced to appear in random international editions of Elle and Harper's. Joan is clever to keep editors and stylists on side. Plus that Estee Lauder deal was the best thing to happen to her career.

This looks awkward af, the posing is off and definitely looks more prefall than spring/summer.

So far it looks like one of Luigi & Iango's March/September shoots with Vogue Japan, featuring a big casting of great models trying to copy Meisel's style. I like it, but this ain't the Meisel I love.
I hope this is not the best they've got to offer because the casting is amazing and even though I didn't like the spring collection I'm looking forward to the rest of the campaign.

Not a great campaign but I'm happy for Joan. Every year people think she's going to fade and she keeps proving them wrong. She's been booking A list projects for ten years now and wasn't originally an instagirl. That's pretty awesome and stellar. IMO she is the iconic model of the 2010s. She didn't let the instagirls outshine her and continued to book work based on her talent. Started off strong in 2010 and ended 2019 strong. So proud!!

What a sad shot for spring! Hopefully we will see some better images.

absolutely agree! Joan and her agent are smart and hard working, she's snatched everything she could in high fashion, she made money with the right commercial clients and she got to be on many international covers. Together with Karlie, Gigi and maybe Cara she's the model of the decade!

Nice to see Joan and I LOVED Gigi's Max Mara by Meisel campaigns. But this is not it. Hopefully there are better shots.

You call these “Supermodels”? They look like models on their first photoshoot. I’ve heard of wooden acting but I think this is the first time I’ve seen wooden posing

I'm just so unbelievably thankful they ditched the hideous hair and makeup from the show for this campaign, which did completely ruin the whole Max Mara show for me back in September. This more subdued look here works perfectly, very keen to see more because I never tend to dislike a Max Mara campaign photographed by Steven Meisel.

yeah, feel the same The Pradafw19 hair-esque was off for Max Mara ... i like the idea of uniforms at the show. I don't hate it but it's subpar from previous campaigns...
