Yes, it's true. And she couldn't work for about 6 months or something like that. That's the reason why she doesn't make high fashion anymore.

one of her hips were broken and she had to spend at least 6 months to recover. when she tried to come back, there were apparently no jobs for her. and now she's just doing danish magazines, copenhagen fashion weeks and such. and she's in the sports illustrated swimwear issue for second year in a row or something.

have you ever seen nightclub pictures of may with steve o from jackass?
she looks so embarrassed as he's pulling funny faces or setting his head on fire or blleeding from self-inflicted wounds - I dont understand how she can tolerate his juvenalia. is he sexy?? not to me.

then again Ive seen some photos of may smiling and its clear in these images that her face was reconstructed after a serious car accident. I admit in many photos its hard to tell between makeup and airbrushing, but in others its disturbing how her face was put back together its positively Frankenstein-like.
if you look closely at that close-up image posted above here, it appears to me that her entire jaw/chin and upper mouth area was reconstructed.

when may was a fresh face in the us in the 90s she had a lot of appeal. to me she is way past her sell-by date. although shes mounted an impressive iof sporadic comeback the last few years, into a sports illustrated type girl, I really cant look at her anymore.
