At least Trentini just had a few editorials in American Vogue (Testino, Meisel and Demarchelier) and Vogue Nippon. Last time Coco was in Vogue US was in dec 09, in one shot.

I think the reason they kept Natasha at 2 and moved Sasha to 3 is because Sasha is because Natasha hasn't been at 2 as long as Sasha and they don't like to move around the top spots too often.

Make sense that Freja moved up, I was just thinking about it yesterday. She really is having the best moment of her career right now, and it seems all of this came as soon as she was re-enlisted by Meisel.

Wonder who will be next #1 though. Will Freja get there? My money's on Karlie. She has way too much support behind her right now not to make it.

ETA: Magda needs to seriously be moved up to like Top 10. I don't stan for her or anything, but she's been doing well the last couple years and she deserves to be there more than say Eniko. I don't know why she's so 'low'.

it isn't high quality work at least not compared to the balenciaga,dolce and gabbana campaigns she used to get.it would be a mockery of the icon's list if she was included right now.

Couldn't agree more. To have her on the same list as the likes of Daria, Naomi, Amber, Linda, Kate etc. would be an insult [to those girls].

Suvi is also off the list now. When are they going to remove Ranya already?

If they wanted to they could take at least 10-15 girls off the list, girls who do get work but aren't neccessarily in direct competition with girls who work consistantly in all arenas. That would be much more representative. I think after two seasons if a model isn't working as well as she was two seasons ago then she should be moved off, e.g Nimue, Kamilla F, Hannah Holman, Lakshmi Menon, Tao, Agyness, Trentini, Julia Halfstrom, Kendra Spears, Du Juan, Irina Kulikova, Anya Kazakova, Ranya Mordanova, Rihanne Ten Haken, Rasa Z can all be moved off. Clearly a lot of these girls are still working but their work is hardly conisitant. Frequent runway appearances shouldn't mean you should be ranked with girls who do runway, editorials, covers and campaigns like Raquel, Freja and friends...

Nimue Smit moved up on the list few weeks ago despite not having even an editorial in a while...maybe mdc knows more than we do? Who knows.
She is not working as much just because she's not desired anymore though, she was busy finishing with school and now will focus on modeling full time

I think the rumor about Raquel and Gucci was for the Pre-Fall campaign. There are still Gucci, Stella, Balmain etc etc. Beauty and Fragrance ads?

Covers are also important. Natasha has 6 Vogue covers so far this year. She's tied with Abbey for the most cover count.

Sasha has been number 2 ever since Raquel became number 1. Eventhough Natasha doesn't seem to have any campaigns this season, somehow it feels legit to place Natasha above Sasha at this moment.

I think there was a discussion awhile back, and i remember that when gemma was going to be removed from no1 it was between sasha and raquel for the spot.

Count me in as one of those scratching their head over Sasha being downgraded to the number 3 position. While covers, especially Vogue covers, are far from inconsequential, to me campaigns trump covers and eds and to me it is not even like there was a slim margin between Sasha and Natasha's campaign tally because even if you count Gucci (either because Natasha has a contract or you believe that she will be in the campaign which is where I am leaning (hoping)) it still does not offset Sasha's campaign record for the FW 2010 season and if you want to look at it long term, I know Sasha has more Vogue covers. For the record, Natasha and Sasha are on equal footing when it comes to my personal affection, so I know that I am not being predjudiced in that way.

I guess based on my own view of the world, I would have either bumped Freja up to 2 and let it be a three-way tie between Freja, Natasha and Sasha or I would have leapfrogged Freja into a tie for the number one spot with Lara, because Freja really is just killing it every which way - campaigns, on the runways and magazines.... she is killing it!

Raquel definately has the Gucci mainline, she shot it in Rome and Morocco with Romulo Pires. And doesn't Kate Moss have Balmain? I think that was confirmed.

I really hope Natasha has something, it just wouldn't make sence. A model like her with no campaigns is an impossible thought in my head. Maybe she has Gucci with Raquel.
